I would be running a windows-linux combination but I lack my disc drive and I prefer to install linux through disc rather than anything else.

I also still have windows XP on my computer downstairs but I rarely use that.

Windows 7, following a difficult-at-best relationship with Vista.
Haha. Same, I left Vista for her Better Looking, more reasonable little sister.

I just switched from XP to Seven on January 1st!! ^_^ Very happy with it so far, if only because it's prettier and makes full use of my 4 gigs of RAM.

What dissuaded you from using 64 bit?
Lighter on the processor, smoother running games.
For now, until every game decides to use more than 4Gb. Then you're stuffed.

Also, obligatory [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/loadingreadyrun/2516-Every-OS-Sucks].

My desktop computer, on which I do most of my browsing and gaming, runs Windows 7, at least until Left 4 Dead 2 is eventually released officially for Linux and runs natively.
My 5-year-old laptop runs Kubuntu, my fave Linux distro.
My Cr-48 runs Chrome OS.

P.S. Thanks

XP. My main machine also dual-boots to Vista but... come on... it's Vista....

My older machine dual boots XP and 98. Still works perfectly fine. And man, does 98 boot FAST on a P4!

Laptop came with Vista, now has XP on it. Is much happier. (Seriously, Vista on 256 MB RAM? Damn Acer. Had to upgrade the RAM to even get XP running repectably.)

Vista. I'll have to change when I buy a new laptop..but for now it's serving me well. I still think XP is the most reliable though. Pity it's getting phased out.
Well, Microsoft has extended support for the XP till 2015 (2 years beyond our retarded apocalypse), last I heard. If softwares stop supporting XP at any point in the future, I can safely say people can fall back on 7 - its backward compatibility has yet to fail me.

Hell, 7's Windows Defender has nearly made antiviruses redundant. Considering applications can't modify critical Windows system files - at least not without your permission - the OS structure is somewhat similar to the Mac OS, without being too restricting... or having a nightmarish compatibility issue.

By the way, if you have problems with your Windows and post it on any forum, you're bound to meet at least one jackass saying "You wouldn't have that problem if you were running a Mac".

Clobber him. Internet style.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. A well over a year. A lot better than I could've ever imagined.

Wow I had NO idea that the escapist was THIS Windows-friendly. I have this mental image that all console gamers have Macs at home, for some reason. :S

Not like there's a better option.

What else? Mac? Linux? Laugh...
