Oh god! So much Winows!

I thought we were better than that, Escapist...
This is a gamer website, what did you expect? Only a few good games also work on Mac OS or Linux.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard here... I'm guessing I'm a pretty small minority considering this is a gaming website XD
I thought there would be more OSX people still.
All my friends, gamers or not, use Macs.
I guess that is not indicative of this site's constituency.

Linux, if you laugh at that option your a noob.

Having that said I run moon os, thinking about switching over to freebsd.
My a noob? Looks like someone doesn't know the difference between contractions and possessives.

And no, forgive me princess, I just like to get functionality out of my PC, and since I'm not a network administrator, there's really no reason to use it.

But hey, it's all cool man, let's just go play TF2 toget-... OH WAIT!

Windows 7, with a little Ubuntu partition on the drive. It can be useful, but it's not very good for ordinary, daily use.

I also have a (hardly working) Macbook which I rarely use since I'm almost always in my room with my awesome PC.

Windows XP.

Not had pleasant experiences with Vista or 7. And since Microsoft seems more and more to be taking a page from Autodesk's book, I have extremely low expectations for 8.

All games that I play work for linux which is wc3, sc2, HoN, WoW and Minecraft all work more then fine on Linux. I can browse freely without having anti-virus. I can customize it to my liking and style making me feel more at home and also make it alot quicker. Supposedly for TF2 the only thing not working according to winehq's test is "Voice transmission with snd_usb_audio microphones" which is something I personally could live without.

I run all of them but xp. OSX for creativity and any games that can run on OSX. Windows 7 for games and other stuff.

OSX for primary usage and Windows Vista for games. Sadly, I've been too lazy to upgrade to Windows 7.

Regarding DICE ditching Windows XP, I'd say it's about time. XP was effective in its time, but it's time to move on. Windows 7 is the future for Windows, and continuing to support XP is only going to stifle innovation.

Windows XP (32-bit)

I bought my computer either as or shortly before the whole Vista fiasco. I've upgraded hardware since then but saw no need for a new OS. I guess I'm holding out for the "next XP" (the next stable enough version that a ton of people use and stick with for extended periods of time).

For now, until every game decides to use more than 4Gb. Then you're stuffed.
How so?
32 bit OSes don't do more than 4Gb. They do about 3.2Gb, including the RAM on the video card. Obviously, if your game + OS needs more than that, hard cheese.

Good thing I have all the original install discs and more.

I'll stay with 32 bit until necessity dictates otherwise.
