I could care less... and I could care less about all the people that say "it's 'I couldn't care less'". Who really cares? It gets the point across. "Same difference" is far more annoying...

Okay, here goes...

On Topic:
I've voted for the excited option. Was a big Buffy, Angel and Firefly fan back in the day, in fact Buffy was pretty much the dominant interest through my teens. Quite liked Dollhouse (haven't seen beyond the first couple of episodes of season two yet and will probably wait until the season hits DVD) but it never felt like something to get too excited about. It pretty much felt like it was a show that was living on borrowed time from the start.
As for The Avengers, I'm cautiously optimistic but also aware it will never be able to compete with my memories of the good old days when the thought of a new Buffy episode pretty much sustained me through the week.

Off Topic:
If you visit my workplace you'll find I pretty much have a reputation as a grammar and punctuation nazi (I especially have a thing for apostrophes). To be honest when it comes to a lot of things it's just a sign of how completely bored I am, because if my brain were more occupied I'd probably not care as much (whilst remaining capable of caring to a lesser degree, thus enabling the legitimate use of the expression we are currently discussing). That being said there are certain examples of poor usage of the English language that should not be just ignored and one of them is phrases that mean the opposite to what they claim to mean and do not incorporate irony. "I could care less" is one of these, as are all double negatives.

I already wasn't going to watch it, but if I was I would think that it was a pretty bad thing because I'm not a fan of Joss Whedon's work.

Also, props to the Escapist for finally including my most applicable option!

Edit: Oh, wait, it said could care less? Aw, man!

I refuse to answer until 'I could care less' is changed to 'I couldn't care less.'
Maybe some people care less about the people complaining about the statement's incorrectness, thus rendering it correct.

Meh, I'm indifferent really, I would have picked someone else though. He's made some good TV shows but I don't think that qualifies him to helm the biggest superhero movie of the decade. =\

Could someone refresh my memory, who's Joss Whedon? The name sounds familiar, I just can't place it.

I'm still stuck on them replacing Edward Norton. That makes me ... SO ANGRY.

And Joss Whedon hasn't done dick movie wise since Serenity.. I have some doubts to how good it will be. But hell, it's the Avengers. I'll see it in theaters.

Joss has made one awesome thing (Firefly/Serenity) and several mediocre things. This news turns a movie that I had little interest in seeing into a movie that I still have little interest in seeing. "I could care less" is the only option that is true in my case.

I've always said give him a movie budget and watch the magic he makes. I can't wait.

Finally a poll to which i can give my usual answer:

I don't care.

I don't even know what this movie is about.

I hope it's going to turn out awesome because... it deserves to be.

I voted "I couldn't care less" (yay changed, good stuff ;) ) however, because I honestly don't know enough about directing or really anything that goes on making the film and as long as it looks cool I'll go watch it. If not then I'll be a little disappointed but in the end there will be another good film :)

Well, hurrah! He makes good shows.

Although, I only see the Avengers movie as a massive cash-in for Marvel. That, or I've never been a fan of "Marvel" movies.

It's Awesome!

But I wish he was directing a movie about a Different set of Avengers...

*Sigh*

You seriously included an 'It's Awful' option? I think most people here are probably going to say it's great. Hell, it's Joss Whedon! Which means it's probably going to be pretty damn excellent, as long as Fox don't intefere and get involved in any way whatsoever...
You should see the news post about this.

OT: At first I was "meh".

Then I learned he apparently helped write Toy Story, then I was like "FUCK YES!"
He helped write Toy Story? FUCK YES!
