I think the Cell Phone is the one you should take with you, just in case of an emergency. I CAN switch the CrackBerry off .. I really can, I'm not addicted or anything .. I really can switch it off...

Seeing as how an iPod/some kind of music thing is a given (right?), it's gonna have to be the good ol' PSP. I loves it, yes I does.

laptop, cause it's good for a lot of things. And some charged spare batteries for it, of course.

Wouldn't smuggle the cellphone, cause I consider that a standard thing to take with you out into rural back country.

My PSP.

Generally I am fine with being tech free for a while but I really need to finish KH: Birth by Sleep.

Well I go camping for two weeks every summer, in a random field in the countryside, entirely sans technology (Even trangias[footnote]Bonus points if you know what one is, double bonus points if you can correct my probable misspelling[/footnote]), usually a different random field each year.
But the organisation that organises random field camping tells adults to bring mobile phones, in case of the need to contact/be contacted by the outside world, though they should be kept off at most times, and only used to contact the real world in emergencies.

Anyway, expostion into my real life over, that means that I bring a phone, and nothing else techy.

Where's the "Refuse to camp because if I leave New York I will explode due to an area's awesome working similarly to air pressure" option?

Cell phones don't count as "smuggling". You're an idiot if you don't bring one. When shit happens in the middle of nowhere, you'll want to be able to call for help...

Don't have a cell phone; My DS is largely useless; never touched a PSP; and I don't have a kindle or a laptop...which is really a shame, because I want to smuggle something. Sigh.

I am not going to go into withdrawl if I do not have any gadgets but I would bring my Ipod. Kinda a glaring gap in the pole to me.

As much as it pains me to say it, my cell phone has become nearly a permanent attachment to my hand, so I would sneak that. I would definitely load it up with more music ahead of time though.

I'd say my DS beats out my cell phone by a small margin. The cell phone would be good in emergencies and make it easier to let people(my family) know when I'm going to come back to camp and such. But the DS makes the drive, which would be hours, much easier.
