Some times ago, I would've said "guns", but that was before I started dabbling in games such as Half-Life, Unreal Tournament, Mass Effect and the like which, well... have guns. Never underestimate the power of games with guns when you need to blow off some steam! Of course, magic holds a special place in my heart, ever since I enjoyed magic wands, chain lightning, and magic missiles (King's Quest series, Baldur's Gate).
And I don't play many multiplayer games (except a couple each year when we hold our LAN party), so if I really *HAD* to pick one, I'd pick multiplayer.

That was my same reasoning for choosing guns ;) Basically all they do is kill from a distance and make loud noises, both of which magic could do.
And since I play starcraft as zerg, it would make destroying the other two races WAY easier if they had no guns!!
Exactly!
As Larry Niven said: "any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology".
Multiplayer can add a lot of fun, so no way I'd pick that, meaning guns will have to go.

I couldn't live without me Multiplayer, and I love me some Magic. Shooters aren't my thing, so so long guns!!

I voted multiplayer, as long as co-op is intact. I've played some good multiplayer matches, and I can hold my own, but a good game multiplayer does not make. I prefer co-op over killing each other.

Looks like a good portion of the escapist members are RPG players if they want to remove multilayer so badly.

Of the three, I hate to say it but guns are my favourite. However, it would be guns that I would remove because these F- and TPS's are reeeally getting on my nerves. I dislike multi-player but that amounts to much of the fun of video games and I wouldn't take that away from the people who do enjoy it. I also hate magic but I do loves me the alternate fantasy games and without magic, they would be dull as hell. Just because I don't use magic doesn't mean I don't want it. Guns are just annoying to me. As I've said before, guns generally make a game dull (generic shooter #1219) or easy (Fable 2); too few games make use of gunplay well these days. I'll mourn the loss of the good shooters out there (and there are a good few) but a gaming world without guns will lead to more innovation in games, that's for sure. No more relying on shooters to make a quick buck.

Multiplayer should be gone..then we wouldn't have online assholes and we WOULD have very creative stories for single players

Multiplayer, get rid of it.

I don't even have to ponder this at all.

Noobs, noob haters, campers, teabaggers, squeaky voiced 13 year olds, etc. I can live without all of that.

Fuck, I'm not even sure why I'm paying for xbox live right now.

Just replace magic with some super advanced technology that is indistinguishable from magic. Job done.

Magic can be so easily replaced by technology. It does screw up fantasy, though...

I can see it now: "OMG SPEAR CLASS IS TEH CHEAPZ! NERF SPEEAR IW! BUFF ROCK! ROCK IS UNDER POWERED!"

Guns. There are other types of generic ranged weapons that can inserted in its place. It would also remove one of the stigmas on games.

I wonder why so many people said magic? It's certainly the most interesting to me. I think guns are the most boring, but then I don't particularly like shooting for the sake of shooting, but using and applying magic is usually fun for it's own sake if it is diverse enough.

Remove guns in games and you kill all FPS and most RTS, so then you remove the greater part of multiplayer gaming aswell.

Remove magic and you kill MMOs and the remainder of multiplayer.

The poll points against multiplayer.

Could not complete poll.

I got a "fail" for the day.

It was just too hard to decide.

Multiplayer. Far too many games make up for sub-par story and controls with their multiplayer portion. Get rid of gun and you effectively get rid of any game set in any era beyond the Industrial age. Get rid of magic, and you get rid of pretty much every RPG ever made.

So it's quite simple. Multiplayer would have to go.

Agreed. Yeah but beware the overpowered stone throwing class, when he dies he drops a beehive that instantly kills nearby opponents.
