But it's common knowledge that McDonalds is becoming a global superstate and will take over the world..
That or Google will.

Mircosaoft will buy all those companys, then turn into an arms dealer.

Then the nintendo faction will start to churn out cybord mech's, John Funk will volunteer, and then the world will be lost.

Or something like that.

It's coming sooner then you think.

See, eventually Nintendo will try to re-create their R.O.B. robot a long with their next generation console. This will become so popular that Sony and Microsoft will spend all their resources to adapt their own A.I. robots to their next gens consoles as well. However, sony makes a robot to powerful and expensive for them to control which soon takes a strong lead in the market right under Nintendo's R.O.B.2, this is made easy by Microsofts robots easily overheating and crashing. Soon, the robot craze hits a high mark in the market place. Now, Apple is always one for innovation, in light of the surge in robopopularity they decide "we must revolutionize this robot technology and make it portable," cause by then all the robots were bound by their consoles. so they announce a high end, mobile robot called the iBot. However, as is Apple's game plan, they release it with a lot of features taken out or disabled so they can sell their iBot 3G half a year later. Unfortunately, due to this and Apple's ability to make it so no other device can operate their robot, they have accidentally disabled the consumer ability to control the robot. As soon as it's out in the market that's when things start going downhill.

Robot sales go out of control and the robots become agressive, lives are lost as their ability to adapt to you play style and your taste in music leads them to learn to much and become sentient beings. More robots flood the market, they become unstoppable. Soon the robots start to fight amongst each other, the iBots in clear control since they are bipedal. Never the less, the battle wages. But the story's not over yet.

Because then Google steps in. Now, Google already knows what you play and what music you listen to, they've always known. And since Google at this point owns the majority of the internet, they are already in the heads of every robot out there. So they release a robot, CADIE mark 2. Using the most technically advance AI in the world and a complete hold on information being transferred between the robots, CADIE has a clear advantage over the other robots. The battle still wages on.

The dust has settled, CADIE has won. Google is showered with praise from the survivors, they were invincible. Soon the people, in all their good faith, elect the CEO of Google to the rank of president. They don't bat an eye as their heros take over every bit of the world as we know it. Besides, with Microsoft, Sony, and Apple out of the way; who's going to stop them. Then, Google takes over the world.

All except for gaming and robots, because at this time Nintendo's R.O.B. 2 is still selling like hotcakes thats to games like R.O.B. Music, R.O.B. Resort, and Mario Kart 5.

The End

Apple has it's claws firmly in the media, even the stars worship Jobs.
Sony can lay claim to online gaming, and I'm sure they will be going for Acti/Blizzard when the Kotick scandal breaks.
Nintendo and Microsoft will be trying to eliminate Sony though, while Google provides all the feed.

But in the battle of the behemoths, you just have to look at who has the OS that run them all.

Micro$oft.

Apple may control the eyes and ears, Sony - the hands, Nintendo - the muscles, Google even has the brain...but Micro$oft has the blood (the corporate world) that controls them all.

Google isn't gonna take over the world... they've already given up on China, and that's a big market right there. It's gonna be Starbucks because they supply the most addictive drug ever, and it's perfectly legal. Shit they even have a 30 oz cup like what the hell

Sony isn't really a contender.

With Microsoft, the government would spend all the time bluescreening or redringing.

Nintendo would make everyone wear a red had and a mustache, while passing a minimally modified version of the same law over and over again.

Apple, I dunno.

With Google we'd have water slides and pool tables in government buildings, and they'd probably replace cars with bumper cars (judging by their HQ)

Nine mercenaries have come together for a job. It's the end of a century a lot like the one we just started. Despite major technological advances, things are fairly simple. Information is given freely, the populus is happy, and there are five holding corporations that secretly control every government on the planet. Each corporation administers its fifth of the world with a multi-disciplined army of paper pushers. For any problem lacking an obvious bureaucratic solution, mercenaries like these are contracted to address the situation through a massive amount of force. And if you didn't get that reference, you have no buisness on the Escapist.
