I enjoyed World at War the most. Yes, it was another WW2 shooter but it was a WW2 shooter with Gary Oldman and Kiefer Sutherland!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

I only choose this because it is the only game of the series I have played other than Big Red One back on the original Xbox. I'm slowly trekking my way through the single-player, while my roommates and I enjoy the occasional game of multiplayer on splitscreen.

I stay as far the hell away from online multiplayer as possible.

[sub]Team Fortress 2 already has me hooked in that area.[/sub]

COD4 - From what little I played online it was well balanced and fun - but also because of 'All Ghillied Up'. Such an epic mission.

black ops is my new favourite.. the campaigns in modern warfare 1 and 2 were more enjoyable for me personally, but i really enjoy some of the new features of the multiplayer in black ops

I still prefer CoD1 and CoD2 to the newer ones, but mainly because I enjoyed WW2 FPS games :p

If I HAD to pick from the newer ones then CoD4 I guess, but only because the levels were interesting and multiplayer felt unique (at the time) compared to other FPS games

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Military blockbuster that shall never be beaten. Happens also to gotten me into gaming and made me start listening to Led Zeppelin. I.e. that game changed my fucking life.

It is and it will always be Call of Duty 4, but I must say that I like Blops a lot, mainly because I do fairly well at it very often instead of shit like in MW2.
It feels.. balanced.

World at War, with Call of Duty 4 right after.

However, I never really cared for the games all that much in the first place.

CoD1 and 2 are still my favourites. Not really in to the whole Modern Warfare malarkey.

I mean I've played COD:MW2 but I played for about all of an hour with the riot shield and throwing knife...
So not at all seriously...

Beyond that, never had any real interest in it.

I voted "Do not like CoD" though that's a bit of an overstatement. I played the first title's demo, tried CoD3 at a demo kiosk, and bought CoD4. I haven't played any of the others at all.

CoD4's single-player was fun the first time through, but afterwards is just tedious. I don't think I ever played the multiplayer after hearing of the antics and shenannigans going on... and certainly looking at how the play progresses there are serious balance issues.

I'm not going to say I don't like the series, but I don't like them enough to buy them or play them very much. (Indeed, some day I need to trade in my CoD4 for some in-store credit... maybe when I go get Fallout: New Vegas over the holidays.)

Yeah, the history buff in me greatly enjoyed the first one and its expansion pack. I'd love to play those again actually. They're great games, even in their own right, not just for the history.

I liked World at War the best. Despite the fucking dogs.

Maybe because I got into shooters when WWII was going out of style, and now I'm sick of "present day/near future" warfare.
The world war 2 games did start to become a let down after time, but as my friend blondly said "Why do all the call of duty games always have the same bloody guns?" You try explaining to her that those WERE the guns of that era...

thats why I liked black ops actually. It was in the past, but not TOO far back. It wasn't this uber future/modern warfare stick. It took place during Kennedy. It was a good shot at the past without hitting that World War barrier

Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, obviously. And I'm not talking about the mutliplayer.
Thank You!!! The campaign for 4 was just breathtaking for me and made me cherish the fact it had a great single player experience that much more!

Oh hell yeah!! The WW2 of CoD and MoH both proved to be some of the greatest and my first taste of Nazi killing goodness

CoD4 had a great single-player. Black Ops multi-player is intriguing and despite the sniper rifles being nerfed (not referring to quick-scoping), is enjoyable. Also, making people look like unicorns with crossbow bolts stuck in their heads.

My favourite is World at War it had zombies which was just awesome playing it with mates and in my opinion it also had the most balanced multiplayer.
