OT: Spartan, but I also enjoy Elite Slayer because the needler has been made pretty BA again, and spawning with plasma grenades leads to multiple big blue explosions.

I'm a bit confused this time around. In Halo 3 you could pick to be an Elite in anything. Yeah I'm usually a Spartan, but I was going to try and get that achievement for killing five Spartans as an Elite, but even though I switched my preference to Elite, every game that was picked in Rumble Pit, switched me back to a Spartan(Apparently Elites can't use a DMR, lol.) Is Invasion the game that would be best for this achievement? Because at least once during that, you get to be an Elite against Spartans.

Yes. Bungie intentionally made the Elites and Spartans different scale this time, so slayer or any other game would not be a match of equals. If you notice in invasion, the Elites are much bigger than Spartans this time around. Unless you're playing a custom game (i.e. not matchmaking, so I don't think the achievement would take), there are no other games where Elites and Spartans face off.

Halo is an ok series. 3, Wars and ODST aren't very good, but 1, 2, and Reach are decent enough. Spartans are the most bad ass part of the franchise. It's impossible to beat 2-ton armor and almost inhuman capabilities.

Yeah, I didn't think about that. I'm fine now, I got the kill five Spartans achievement and the Skunked achievement, while playing Invasion a few minutes ago. That brings me to 39 out of 49 achievements completed. Hopefully it won't take me too much longer to beat the game on Legendary. What I normally do is beat it on Normal to get the story and lay of the land and then I play Legendary, I'm just a little more than halfway through near the end of Exodus. Where I am at there is just too long a stretch without a checkpoint and it is aggravating me.

I used to like spartans

but then i played halo 1 on the most dificult setting... and the "elites" where such a pain to kill (2 full clips and 3 beat downs EACH) that i changed for those... it just made them so much more cool in my book

and the armours in Halo 3 are awesome IMO

Elites are just as a pain in Reach. I was playing on Legendary yesterday, and on one Elite, I put sniper bullet in his head 2 to the body, and beat him down twice. I died and it survived. They even take a laser or a rocket to the face and they don't die.

Spartans specifically Spartan-IIs.
Elites are cool just because of the energy sword and their ability to dodge but other than that, their weapons suck and they do that retarded move where you knock their shield down and they grunt in anger. Jump out of the way don't stand there! Also I was hoping for the option of Master Chief...he would have won by a long shot.

ODST's are cool, but you got to love having eight foot tall two ton humans running around like a boss.

I thought Elites looked like giant lizards. And gorillas don't have pincer mouths.

While I agree that spartans kick ass, the elites do have good guns. Like the fuel rod, or sticky launcher, or energy sword(technically not a gun), or focus rifle.

Humans don't have laser swords...
And I think you're just dancing around the fact that they don't look like gorillas. They don't even have hair, or the same type of mouth, or the same eyes. The only resemblance is two arms, two legs, and they're very tall.
