what do you thin of Nintendo and team ninja together on the new metroid?

EDIT; to give me own thoughts on the matter

I think that Ninja Gaiden was more about the combat than the expansionary platforming involved in Metroid. The demo looks to me like a ninja gaiden clone and If they can pull off the sense of interaction with the environment that prime and fusion managed to do, then i will take my hat off to them. what I don't want a video game is a bunch of finishing moves with samus just showing off her breast physics.

what I thought was so great about the retro version was the fact that since it was a first person, you could really get a sense of exploration was involved, that you had to explore the environment to get the most out of it. it worked on the 2D version because you had to mix up the terrain in oder to keep people interested. If the game becomes focused on the enemies only, I feel the overall will suffer because of it.

BTW, sorry if I made a repeat thread. I made this in a rush before i was leaving, so I couldn't use the search bar

well it should be very good if previous team ninja is anything to go by. but i would say that being a big NG fan. but aside from that, love metroid, love nintendo (to an extent) just wish it would come out on something other than the wii... gamecube anyone? :)

Well, how did she fit that long hair into her helmet in the first place?

Anyways, Use the search bar. There have been several threads made about Other M.

And I think it looks terrible. Game play is meh and the story look embarrassing, to say the least.

I think part of this story might take place before the time of Samus as we know her. One of the people in the video is undoubtedly Adam Malkovich, a past C.O. of Samus's who's now dead and was copied as a computer program (construct) in Metroid Fusion.

Yeah, pretty much this. I thought I was the only one who remembered that.

Anyways, I hope they ramp up the graphics, the Wii can do better than what was shown, especially the first-person part, that looked awful.

I hope this turns out well, I really do.

That was my first thought! Woo!
but it looks pretty Bad arse, I kinda wish it was for like my 360 or something because I woul rather play that with a more standard controller rather than the wiimote based off of what I was, but I know that is a dumb wish cause it won't happen.

I actually think that the graphics work well as is because it has so many similarities to the Metroids of old. I'd really like to see a 3D Metroid that recalls the days of Super Metroid and the like.

So far my only complaint is the apparent possibility of having too many characters (like the one black guy they hinted at would be part of the plot) present in the game and eliminating that sense of solitude that I loved about Metroid.

EDIT: I'm also a little worried about aiming in 3rd person in the non-2D segments.

Also, there's no indication that the game won't support GC and classic controllers. And if those two are supported, then the Nyko Wing is a perfect option.

Yeah but how am I also going to get achievements or the game in HD without it being on my 360? hahaha, I guess there might be a little fanboyism in there.

looks good. hated the last 3 monotonous backtracking extravaganzas that where the metroid prime series and this looks like a hybrid throwback between NG and the old school metroids
