According to Harold Camping, an evangelist that predicted the end of the world back in '82 I think, tomorrow is the Rapture. And he has made sure we all hear about it.

He's put up, like, 2,200 billboards, plenty of sign-holders, a few accounts made to post on videos "May 21st is Judgement day" yatta yatta yatta.
So, even though this contradicts the bible ("No man shall know the day." "Beware false prophets." "Not even angels know the day."), what do you think?

Rapture today, actually. Timezones, motherfuckers.

I can see Jesus walking around outside, shouting at people. Seems annoyed.

Could be a drunk guy, though.
Could it just be that everyone in your country are filthy sinners who Jesus wouldn't be caught dead(again) associating with...or that everyone worth knowing is a filthy sinner, anyway?

Maybe it'll come and go and no one will even notice that it happened. Everything else that comes afterward (the Tribulation)could just be chalked up to human caused climate change and the inevitable breakdown of societies?

It's already the 21st across the international date line, so... :-\
Yeah, I've already proved the muppet wrong. It's a beautiful, sunny May 21st with no apocalypse in sight :>
Not to play lawyer here but he said it would happen ON May 21, not AT May 21st. He still has a few hours left.

OT: That being said, this is really stupid. I very much doubt it will happen.

I am having an "End of the world party" but all that will entail is eating chicken fingers and playing DnD

Wait,
*looks at computer time*
It's the 21st in Ireland.

... The Rapture has been disappointing thus far.

All I want is a livestream of Harold Camping waking up on Sunday morning.
That is a win!!! Plus your Avatar makes it all the better

Everyone knows that Wesker is the reason the world will end.....PURE....Global....Saturation!!
Ahem.

COMPLETE...global...saturation!

I know my wesker.

Ot: I doubt it somewhat. I even feel disgusted at this guy. He's taking advantage of good, if a little naive, people. Not sure what he gets outta this, but he's still disgusting for it. The bible says you can't predict the end, and this guy tried twice. Really? It's like the Islamic terrorists that don't know Islam roughly translated means "peace".

It's like the Mayan calendar, nothing's gonna happen. People have been predicting Jesus returning for two millenia now, it's highly unlikely.

An atheist and entrepreneur from North Hampshire, Bart Centre, is enjoying a boost in business for Eternal Earth-bound Pets, which he set up to look after the pets of those who believe they will be raptured.

He has more than 250 clients who are paying up to $135 (£83) to have their pets picked up and cared for after the rapture.

They would be disappointed twice, he told the Wall Street Journal. "Once because they weren't raptured and again because I don't do refunds."
I'm sure he's not the only one making a buck off of the nutters.
GENIUS!

You know, I have noticed that quite a few people here think that if the rapture really happened it would be a good thing because it would get rid of all the 'loonies' who believe in that sort of stuff, but the problem with the argument is that if the rapture does happen and they do ascend to wherever their bound, wouldn't that make them RIGHT? Is the concept of these people being right not scary to anyone else?

I think he may have delayed the Rapture by letting us all know it had been planned for tomorrow.

Because here it's been "tomorrow" for two hours now and nothing's happened. Although, to be fair, I don't live by the sea, so I might miss it anyway...

No rapture for me :)

Interesting fact - it is never the same date in all of the world - the time zones span 25 hours, so when the 21st starts way in the east, it will still be the late 19th way in the west, and by the time it gets to the 21st in the west, it will be early 22nd in the east. :p

The Earthquakes are going to start at 6:00 PM sharp. So it's gonna start in Asia and slowly ripple outward as the Time-zone shifts.

Friggin' idiots.

Thanks for the advice :) I'm not quite as nervous as I thought I'd be.
So what if you mess up? The worst that is going to happen is that you can find yourself asking the same person again, or perhaps another.

No use worrying about it.

If it did make them right they'd already be gone and wouldn't be able to be smug about it, it's a win win situation

But the overall implication is that we are wrong, which means what? Eternal hellfire and damnation? I'm not so familiar with what is supposed to happen next.

Okay... still here? I must have gotten the wrong religion, or whatever.

It seems like the ol' earth keeps on turning, until that sun of ours go out, or when humankind finally drops the ball on humanity, and commits complete genocide on it self.

Until that happens... I'm going to continue laughing, dancing, prancing and all the other things ending in -ing, until I drop dead on my own accord.
