It's 21st here already. No rapture in sight. Which is good, I get to finish LA Noire before I get cast down to hell.
...Odds are if you weren't chosen you wouldn't notice anything until at least the 22nd anyway...
Not true. Surely the "saved" will have ascended and people would notice that, y'know, half the population has gone missing? Assuming the saved float up to heaven and the rest of us wallow around here for five months until we get sent to hell for being the naughty peons that we are, i'm pretty sure people would notice their loved ones had gone missing if they were 'saved' while the others were not.

OT: I can't believe how adamantly people are willing to believe things like this. The world isn't going to end. Not now, not a hundred years from now, only when the sun burns out, explodes, and engulfs the entire solar system. We had a better chance of it being the end of the world during the Y2K panic when computers would go apeshit than we do of any 'divine apocalypse'.

Anyone for some post-rapture looting? I was thinking I would set up a Mad Max type society since I already live in a desert and after the rapture will have nothing better to do than brain innocent people to steal what little water or food they have left. Hahaha, No. The rapture happening tomorrow is a joke, although I do plan to have a weapon handy, never know what kind of crazy people might come out of the woodwork when this sort of thing happens.

I think the guy is a whackjob. I believe both Newton and Nostradaemus both have made several predictions about things that have happened and have both predicted 2024 or something to be the year. I think they're a little more accurate than this guy. So I'll see you all tomorrow and the day after...

The bible has stated that there will be a rapture, but we won't know when. This man is just pulling dates out of his ass.

I'm sick of this crap. I'm not sure if I'm Christian anymore.
same here, I've been slowly put of religion as a whole over the past few years because of morons like this guy, the only thing that comes close to the level of annoyance brought by these "Prophets" are the religious types who claims god causes earthquakes to "Prove his existence to the non believers."

here's a message to all those Fanatics who believe in this crap. stop turning religion into a damn joke, it's Not helping people "See the Light" it's only driving them away from it.

I foresee two possible outcomes to this scenario. Either:
A) The Rapture happens and the Religious nuts leave this world and leave us alone forever or
B) The Rapture doesn't happen and they think that they weren't saved and that they were wrong and they shut up.

Anyway, I'm sure my parents will have something to say tomorrow about this. They are as amused as I am about the lunacy of religious nutters.
I'll need to offload them somehow.

Camping is always wrong, be it in the woods (bears crap there), First Person Shooters and in Eschatology.

Still, the world ends from someone's perspective everyday (You might even say that The World Ends With You. Yes, I just bought up a game title in the Off-topic thread section!), so for those who die today or tomorrow, as far as they know, Harold Camping was right.

Live with the knowledge that from someone's point of view, he was right, no matter how very wrong he is about the Rapture and all that jazz just as Camping might have to live for another minute or two with the knowledge that he was wrong (perhaps not for the final time in his life).
It's almost too bad that none of the 4 Ponies of the Apocalypse will show up tomorrow. A lot of people around the Escapist forums will be devastated, I'm sure. How sure? As sure as Harold Camping is that the Rapture will come tomorrow.

In other words, I'm dead wrong and proud of it for some reason.

Tomorrow is Saturday, that's my day off. Go away Rapture, no-one's home! Shouldn't it be on a Sunday or anything?

Now, if only there was some way that their Rapture craze could trigger a Zombie Apocalypse.

Preferably, where their souls just scoot (or don't, whatever...), leaving their bodies shambling around.
I'd call that win/win.

"No! Stop! You just killed a Jehovah's Witness!"
"Either he was a zombie, or he's been waking me up three times a year for no damned reason. Either way...."

Note: Studies have shown that people who perceive that this post glorifies violent retribution, need more fiber in their diet.

There will be no rapture tomorrow. People have been predicting a cataclysmic end to the planet/EVERYTHING for generations and none of them have been true. Even when someones world collapses around them, humanity and everything else goes on.

I feel bad for all the religious people that are actually certain that this is going to happen and have been spending their time 'preparing for it' then when the day comes and nothing happens- they'll wonder what they did wrong. Like an abusive spouse left during the night and the victim is left wonder what THEY did to make them leave.

That or they'll assume that God spared the Earth due to their good deeds. That or if they are not raptured, then in there mind there was no rapture as they OBVIOUSLY would have been with them so it was all bullshit.
