This may be a little too on-the-nose.

OT: Objectively, this comic's beige color was beige and the people were people who reacted in ways that one could imagine people reacting. The strawman's unemployment was evident.

10/10 (could not find objective reasons to remove marks, congratulations on having a fully functional webcomic)

I think all posts can be assumed to be soaked in sarcastic sauce (until Boudica 2.0 shows up, anyways).

I like to pretend this comic is a call for people to be more level-headed and reasonable when discussing issues, especially in the relatively trivial sphere of gaming. I know it's really a passive aggressive and snarky response to all the people who dared to be insulted and upset by their previous comic and the massive flaming thread that resulted from it, but I like to pretend it could be something more.

Part of what was frustrating about the "White Guy Defense force" comic is that such aggressive, dismissive, and insulting caricatures of different viewpoints or opinions like the ones found in that comic are already far too common in these discussions. They are a major part of why so many discussions devolve into pointless flame wars like the thread on last weeks comic. We need far more encouragement of the attitude of mutual respect that can bring forth actual discussion and growth found and subsequently mocked in this weeks comic.

This comic would have been brilliant if it wasn't for the subtext of "Oh well, people got insulted so I guess we won't try to do anything funny ever again." It's a shame.

I can't help but feel this is only going to keep getting worse and it isn't helped by posters that are trying to fan the flames. Hell, even the mods are getting in on this. And now in this thread we have the "3.5/5 stars" crap being brought over from Greg Tito's GTA V review that's been generating heat since it was posted.

Wasn't that the point of this comic, i'm sure they've made other stripes that i'd agree could use more punch but this one was basically saying that that's not what a proper discussion needs.

Considering last Friday's comic and the response to it, I'm pretty sure Templar's comment is dripping with sarcasm.

3.5/5 stars. honestly this comic has gone so far downhill it is ridiculous. i am not reading it anymore.

Err no, look at the review score guidlines. 3.5 is between "Good, but flawed" and "Very good". So either this cartoon is worth 3.5 stars and is better than you're saying ("so far downhill it is ridiculous", really?) or is as bad as you say and only worth 2.5 stars.

Is it really such a hard concept for people to get their head around?

Docking a comic's score just because you don't like oatmeal is just the most petty thing you could've done.

I totally agree with the point i assume this comic strip tries to make: it's either total blandness or painting people one does not agree with as racist murderers. And i also wholly agree with the makers of this comic strips that painting people one does not agree with as racist murderers is both a valid and effective strategy in discussions (/sarcasm, if that isn't clear by now).

See, while this one I can't help but laugh (I found the last comic to be in ridiculously poor taste), I'd honestly say I'd prefer this sort of comic every week than what Gray and Carter have been frankensteining for the recent while.

Agreed. I just rolled my eyes at the last comic and moved on without responding, because I knew they were just trolling for views. This comic would have been clever if the last one was funny, and not agonizing for anyone other than manginas to read.

Grey, if you are reading this, enough webcomic artists have turned the medium into a joke by pulling this crap. I know you're better than this. The viewership might be down, but please have some integrity. Please don't jump the shark, if you haven't already.

That is the downside to restricting what people can say to one another really. Some will ignore it, act nastily and get hit with the banhammer. Many will simply not post and a few will learn to post nicely. Then a whole bunch of people will try and find a way to insult one another without getting banned for it.

After all, making rules so people cannot be rude isn't going to change peoples personalities. it just prevents them from showing it.

OT: I liked this one, although I do find it kind of wrong that the rules against making accusations of trolling are being enforced in the comments for this comic when the comic is quite often the definition of it.

A mild comic that won't hurt your tum tum.

This after all, cannot be called anything else.

Note: I am not offended in the slightest, I don't mind it (watching peoples reactions is often just as funny as the comic), just the fact that it cannot be called out for what it is.
