First of all i want to state that im a cod fan and i am not bad at the online.Im not a hater ive put like over 50 hours putting all cod together.Ok so while looking through the internet ive seen many of the bad things activision has done. After hearing all these things and realizing that black ops will be the exact same thing i decided i wont black ops For the following reasons
1. Buying the next will make them think they can keep it the same
2. Buying it will support their idea to make a subscription plan for COD
3. They didnt pay the bonus to the workers of modern warfare 2 and this really pisses me off
4. it will play the same and im tired of this
5 it will give money to activision
6. The map packs are ridiculous and i dont want the absurdity to continue
7 price aint worth it

Reason 3 like i said makes me angry im not going to support people like that. Anyone else not gonna buy and why

Reasons TO Buy it:

1. It might actually be good. (!)

Reasons Not To Judge Until it Comes Out:

1. Because you've never PLAYED it. You don't know that it will be more of the same or worse, or better. Personally, I think Treyarch is underrated because people compare it to Infinity Ward. Which is odd, because the same people HATE Infinity Ward.

Isn't it made by that other dev.. not Infinity ward? (which is essentially dead) MW2 was also the same and yet people swarmed to get it. It is one of those things.. people will buy it because of the brand, not necessarily the content.

Edit: Above comment also raises some good points. Needless to say, I'll wait and see how it is before I buy it after it is released.

1. By that logic, we shouldn't buy any games at all. I can see a tiny flaw in this plan.
2. So? Not buying it will do the exact same thing. They want to earn more money, so if sales drop, they'll put the subscription on older titles like Modern Warfare 2 to earn money.
3. This is Treyarch, not Infinity Ward. You can ***** and moan about Activision being jerks if you want to, but if you don't buy the game because they mistreated Infinity Ward then Treyarch suffers for that.
5. Fighting the man now, are we? And exactly what will it accomplish?
6. So don't buy the map packs. What does this have to do with buying the full title?

4 and 7 are opinions, so I wont argue them. (Even though 4 is very irrational, considering that you haven't played the game yet)

I'm just not going to buy it because I don't think I'll enjoy it. Not much of an FPS guy

I say: Don't judge the game until you have played it or have heard from someone else who played it. You shouldn't judge a game that hasn't been finished. For all you know it could be really awesome.
But, I have to agree with you on number 2. Thats just evil.

I'm also a bit weary about whether or not to buy black ops due to MW2, chances are the campaign will be tiny, the multiplayer unbalanced and the map packs will be overpriced.

I know it's a different dev, but I don't trust Activision that much.

However, I'm still hoping that it will be good and I'm not going to make any choices until after it comes out.

Thats what i thought about COD 4. And World at War. And MW2. As it turned out, i should have just judged it as i saw fit.

I'm just not getting it because, historically, I've felt that Treyarch's games are mainly just attempts at copying what Infinity Ward already did, and ending up coming a little short.

Call of Duty 3 and World at War seemed like copycats of Call of Duty 2, while Black Ops looks like it's trying to copy Modern Warfare (albeit with a different setting).

Mind you, CoD 3 and WaW were great, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm tired of this series. And without Infinity Ward to give it a nice jolt every two years, I don't think I'll be coming back.

Why do your reasons seem to only derive from what Activision will think if you buy it? Honestly, they don't care. You're one of millions of potential customers to whom they're marketing Black Ops. Buy it based on how much you think you'll enjoy it, not the result on Activision's side.

the problem with that is in oh so many games such as halo 3, COD WAW, COD 4, GoW, etc the DLC was required for at least part of the multiplayer, so a game that costs "$60" will actually cost more like $90 because to play online you have to buy the map packs, which will never become free. COD 4 map packs are still at least 5 bucks why should i blow more money on a game that i already played full price for, especially since the idea behind purchasing a game is that you are purchasing the rights to use the content of it, and i would assume content includes multiplayer map packs

Wrong. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_of_Duty:_United_Offensive]

Eh, I gave up on Call of Duty after 2... plus, it will focus on multiplayer most likely and I've got enough multiplayer games lying around. Unless by some miracle this game is as good as or better than United Offensive, it was a pass on my list all along.

Honestly it depends on zombies. It may sound superficial, but that was a nice change from the competitive multiplayer aspect.

It sounds like they are putting a lot of work into the campaign and it sounds interesting so I am probably going to get it.

Yeah, that game made me actually feel something for the characters as I played through it. (although I was younger back then). I actually felt really angry after a certain character died.

Treyarch... I'm sold. World at War was awesome. I'll be getting this on release day and then taking the week off work to play. My reason for buying it simple... its fun. Thats my main motivation to buy any game. I couldn't give two shits about who distributes the game, as long as I can get my hands on it and enjoy it who cares?

This is what makes it appealing to me. I'd prefer they scrap the joke of a campaign mode and just make it online only. I've put over 2 weeks actual play time into MW2 and I haven't even played the single player campaign. For competitive online shooter fans, multiplayer is all thats important, and lets be honest, that's who buys COD games.

Let me answer those "reasons" in order.

1) It actually might be good have you considered that idea?
2) Fine let Activision be a dick. Once they see that the plan doesn't work they'll pull it
3) This is treyarch they have no business with the problems with IW.
4) Ok some people actually like it. If you don't like it, fine. There are other games to choose from.
5) No shit. If I pay for Bad Company 2 I'm give money to EA.
6) It's called marketing dumbshit and it worked for IW.
7) Well keep waiting for another Valve game because every other new game will be expensive ($60 if you in America) it's not just Call of Duty.

Let me reply to you in order
1. Are you content with constantly playing the same thing ? anything if used too much is bad and will just ruin the fun
2.They wont pull it theyll get enough people to pay for it
3. Have you no soul dont you feel bad about those who were scrwed over by activision greedy ways. If that happened to you, you would be pissed
4. same as the first
5. You just support them saying its okay to be a dick
6. The map packs in WAW were good. these new map packs are a complete scam its hurting consumers
7. I dont mean $60 game expensive i mean $60 not worth what i paied for a year ago

Ya know im just not happy with everything I am hearing about Activision. Perhaps it is just hype and general internet hate but I just dont really feel like giving them my money. So really thats my first and only reason.
