Had there actually been SecuROM found with the game code (not just a DRM date-check; which in itself is harmless) then I could see the controversy. As it stands, the amount of errant code that gets leftover is insignificant, and the accusation of it being SecuROM just because it came from Sony DADC is a flimsy argument.
Yes, EA didn't disclose the DRM date-check; but that's fine since they flat out state that the game does an on-site DRM check on bootup.
While I normally appreciate their work and dedication, RYC's argument, while technically correct, isn't worth stirring up a shitstorm over.
