Tsubasa, Fruits Basket, and Ouran High School Host Club are ones that I really enjoy. You might too. ^_^
After actually reading this properly I'd say Mai-HiME.Dango said:A few things to keep in mind would be:
1. I'm very much into more emotional anime.
2. I'm not very into "dark" anime.
3. I'm really not into fanservice (with a few exceptions)
4. I enjoy an anime with a love story.
Congratulations, this is now #1 on my "must watch" list.stukov961 said:I'd say Mai-HiME.
I was expecting this list. And I feared the moment it would come.Sacman said:ANGRY SNIP
Well what do you know I'm actually good for something.Dango said:Congratulations, this is now #1 on my "must watch" list.stukov961 said:I'd say Mai-HiME.
It would have come sooner but my GF called... and I've been hanging around Forum Games lately anyway...Dango said:I was expecting this list. And I feared the moment it would come.Sacman said:ANGRY SNIP
Although needless to say your suggestions are duly noted.
I back this up completely. I ended up dropping Lucky Star because discovering Azumanga Daioh, so inferior the former seemed afterwards.Corum1134 said:If you liked Lucky Star watch Azumanga Daioh. Make sure to watch in Japanese because the English voice acting sucks.
Yeah I know what you mean but it need to be tied to the game somehow... who's story is completely different never the less I still enjoyed it greatly, and even in the final half the character of Beyond The Grave rather intrigued me, was he a mindless slave to his own vengeance? was he simply driven by vague urges and memories of his past? Was he still Brandon Heat? the ending while being ambiguous tickled my heart string non the less...AjimboB said:I LOVED this anime, until about the last 5th or so, when they pulled out all of the monster bullshit. It worked extremely well as a crime drama, but once the monsters came into the mix it become mediocre at best.Sacman said:9.Gungrave. Possibly one of the most underrated shows I've seen. Gungrave is a truly great story about friendship, love and betrayal without ever falling into cheesiness the great animation, spectacular fight scenes and well thought out character development doesn't hurt either.
Still, it's about 25 episodes long, and about the first 20 are completely amazing.
The closest thing I have to your description is Bokurano, which is one of my favorites even though it lacks a love story and is extremely depressing. Its about a group of 13 year old kids who are forced to pilot a giant robot to save Earth. It ends up ultimately being about how they each deal with their eventual death, their own mortality, their destructive force, and their insignificance (but at the same time their massive amounts of responsibility) as a human being. I highly recommend it.stukov961 said:Well what do you know I'm actually good for something.Dango said:Congratulations, this is now #1 on my "must watch" list.stukov961 said:I'd say Mai-HiME.
Then maybe you could return the favor and recommend an anime thats pretty much the opposite of this?
Something in an overall negative setting with a rather cynical view on things.
Cyberpunk and Dieselpunk would be my favorite settings.
Watch Serial Experiments Lain... seriously I think it's what your looking for...stukov961 said:Well what do you know I'm actually good for something.Dango said:Congratulations, this is now #1 on my "must watch" list.stukov961 said:I'd say Mai-HiME.

That sort of remind me of Gunbuster & Diebuster, so yeah I'll check it out.Dango said:The closest thing I have to your description is Bokurano, which is one of my favorites even though it lacks a love story and is extremely depressing.
