Lostprophets - Liberation Transmission (Rock)

1: It's the first album I laid eyes on when I was thinking what to post
2: It's really good, although perhaps quite mainstream, every song is decent.
3: If you go to HMV all four Lostprophets albums come under the 2 for £10 deal, so you can get all of them for £20. (hint: I cannot recommend this enough)
Yet, In my opinion the worst Lostprophets album. Rooftops is horribly over-rated. Start Something ftw.
And said before, but Beatles Abbey Road.
I predicted someone would say that. Personally I think LibTran is the best entry point for future fans, because Start Something is a bit too heavy for some.

I agree about Rooftops, but what about A Town, Can't Stop and Can't Catch? All excellent songs IMO.
Yeah I can see what you're saying there.
Can't tomorrows intro is damn good.
Everyday Combat on that album is one of my favourite Prophets' songs.

Sepultura's Under a Pale Grey Sky

There are those who talk a good game about a number of live albums and the energy of them. Some of those assertions are crap, some are not. A slim few are miraculous, and this one tops the list. Any single member of this band could have stepped up and outdone the others. They're all that good. Instead though, they function as a single unit able to pass the ball of incredible ability around and work intimately with one another. For big Sepultura fans, there's also the history behind this particular show, which would be the last with the original recording lineup before Max Cavalera took off to form Soulfly. For folks a bit less familiar with the group, all you really need to know is that it's a two hour long metal show covering 20 years worth of material that does not stop for a break, and has enough soul to make people dance (not just thrash) at every single performance. Don't believe me? Look up some of the footage of their shows in their native Brazil, and tell me you know anyone else that has a section between the pit and the stoners full of hot young people groovin' together to the sounds of a wall of distortion.

The Beatles Album "The Beatles", commonly known as the "White Album".

Though it has songs you may find weird or bad (Revolution 9 and Wild Honey Pie Mostly), I find all of the songs great. It contains such great songs as:

Back in the USSR
Dear Prudence
Glass Onion
The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Blackbird
Piggies
Rocky Raccoon
Don't Pass Me By
I Will
Mother Nature's Son
Sexy Sadie
Helter Skelter
Savoy Truffle
Cry Baby Cry
Good Night

And It contains more songs then just those.

I never got into Radiohead much past those two songs that everybody has heard (Paranoid Android and Creep, of course), I'll have to give this a look. As for an album to recommend, get Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables from the Dead Kennedys, the only album you'll ever need. It's a great intro to the good kind of punk (as in, not made this decade). Here's a couple songs from it.

When Ya Get Drafted

Are you believing the morning papers?
War is coming back in style
There's generals here, advisors there,
And Russians nibbling everywhere
The chessboard's filling up with red
We make more profits when we blow off their heads
Economy is looking bad
Let's start another war when ya get drafted
Fan the fires of racist hatred
We want total war when ya get drafted

Drooling fingers
Panic buttons
Playing with missiles like they're toys
There's easy money, easy jobs
Especially when you build the bombs
That blow big cities off the map
Just guess who profits when we build 'em back up

Yeah, what Big Business wants Big Business gets
It wants a War when ya get drafted
Call the Army! Call the Navy! when ya get drafted
Stocked with kids from slums
If you can't afford a slick attorney
We might make you a spy

Forget your demonstrations
Kids today sit on their ass when ya get drafted
Just a six-pack
And you're happy
We're prepared
For when ya get drafted

Drug Me

I don't want to think
Don't make me care
I wanna melt in with the group
I need the balls
To leap out of my shell
And let go with my friends
Can't come up with anything
I want to do
I need a project I can finish
My brain needs some stimulation
Drug me
Drug me
Drug me
Drug me
Drug me

I'm so fucking tired
I gotta stay awake
I'm runnin' late
I gotta make it thru the day
And make my time go by
TV and the stereo and girls are lots of fun
I want the max
I relate better loaded
'Gotta see that movie stoned'

Drug me
Drug me
Drug me

Drug me with natural vitamin C
Drug me with pharmaceutical speed
Drug me with your sleeping pills
Drug me with your crossword puzzles
Drug me with your magazines
Drug me with your fuck machines
With a fountain of fads
More rock and roll ads
Drug me drug me drug me me me

Finally off of work
Unwind and watch the ball game at the bar
Another potato chip weekend
Is here at last

Go away
Go away
Go away
Go away
Go away

Leave me alone
So I can't see myself

Drug me
Drug me
Drug me

Distant Relatives by Damian Marley and Nas.
One of the best albums of the year in my opinion.
Rap mixed with some reggae and toasting.

Just be warned - it sounds nothing like either of those songs. Kid A is like experimental electronic rock.

I'm listening to the title track as I type this, it's different, not bad, just not what I'm used to. "What I'm used to" being 80's-90's punk, so this is kind of a big step away from my comfort zone, you know? But I'll find the rest of the album and listen to it.

EDIT - I'm listening to Idioteque, and I'm liking it a lot more.

Jimmey Wahlsteen- 181st Songs

It's an accoustic album from the largely unheard of Jimmey Wahlsteen who is an unheard of artist and I would recommend it for the following reasons

It blends interesting chords with a variety of different guitar playing techniques spaning between World, Jazz and Folk styles

It's beautiful, fun and an interesting album and with amazing quality to the songs you can truly feel the overall tone is played from the writters heart and soul

In Flames - A Sense Of Purpose, Come Clarity and Soundtrack to Your Escape
Soilwork - Figure number 5, Natural Born Chaos and A Predators Portrait
Serj Tankian - Elect the Dead
Rammstein - Rosenrot, Mutter and Liebe ist fur alle da
Sonic Syndicate - Eden Fire, Love and other Disasters and Only Inhuman
Bullet for My Valentine - The Poison, Scream Aim Fire, Fever

I know it's not one album, but they are all great and I personally would recommend a listen, however, since I want to be true to this thread and pick one I would say Rammstein - Liebe ist fur alle da. I've been listening to it for quite some time now and it's awesome!

Guess I should no longer consider myself a music fan. I personally don't like Radiohead at all.

As for my picks:
Five Finger Death Punch "War is the Answer" (Hard Rock/Metal)
Spineshank "Height of Callousness" and "Self Destructive Pattern (Industrial Metal/Metalcore)
