Tango 'til They're Sore is one of my favourite songs.

That is such a great tune.
It?s always great to see another Tom Waits fan out there.
I think he?s the most underrated (or should I just say underhyped) musician of all time. IOW-He gets a lot less recognition than he deserves.

He?s a great actor too. Two roles I don?t think anyone can do as well as him: Renfield (from Dracula) and the Devil (in his case from The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus).

Hazards of Love - The Decemberists

This album needs to be listened in one sitting because the whole package is a rock opera, ranging from folksy ballads to a creepy children's choir to guitar riffs. While the genre changes may seem discordant when listened to haphazardly, it works excellently as a package. If you're in the mood for a different story and catchy riffs, give Hazards of Love a try.

Of course they do, an opinion can't be wrong. But I would say all of MM's first three albums are pretty close in their brilliance.

Brain Salad Surgery (see my avatar), probably the most powerful album from Emerson, Lake & Palmer. They're a 70's symphonic rocks band that got a lot of their inspiration from orchestral writers like Aaron Copland and Modest Mussorgsky.

What makes this album truly amazing is their 29 minute masterpiece, Karn Evil 9. Divided into 4 parts, all of them are very different changing from symphonic rock, rock n roll and piano concerto. The 3rd Impression has possibly the most epic riffs ever made, so yeah, give it a whirl.

Sufjan Stevens - Illinois: I heard this album about a week ago, and I can't describe how much I enjoy it. It's kind of indie/alternative-folk-pop, but it doesn't fall into the trap that so many other similar artists do of either being boring or twee. It just works, and is both the happiest and saddest album I've heard. Make of that what you will...
