Lostprophets - Liberation Transmission (Rock)

1: It's the first album I laid eyes on when I was thinking what to post
2: It's really good, although perhaps quite mainstream, every song is decent.
3: If you go to HMV all four Lostprophets albums come under the 2 for £10 deal, so you can get all of them for £20. (hint: I cannot recommend this enough)
Ninja'd, dammit

Muse: Absolution. Their best album by far (Rock)
I'm glad you were going to post that one because tbh I was just expecting a load of LP fans to come on and berate me for choosing LibTran instead of SS.
You also reminded me that I really need to listen to more Muse.
Get Absolution when you see it, every song is something awesome.

David Ford - I Sincerly Apologise for all the Trouble I've Caused

Actually, his subsequent albums, Songs for the Road and Let the Hard Times Roll are probably better, but this is the one I really love.

Yes, he looks like the kind of generally acoustic singer-songwriter that are dime-a-dozen, but seriously give him a chance. He's criminally underrated, with a good ear for a melodic hook, and awesome lyrics. I can count the number of bands I actually find emotionally affecting lyrically on one hand (what can I say, I'm horribly cynical), but he pulls it off constantly.

And he's a consistently entertaining and witty live performer, I've been to see him tons of times and never been disappointed.

Plus, he makes good use of a loop pedal for his angry world-is-going-to-shit songs, and I'm a sucker for loop pedals:

Lo-Fi Alternative.

I know men who cry when they listen to this album, it's that good.

EDIT: No italics in spoiler bars? baaaaw
Seconded. I'll admit, I have come very close to crying while listening to Two Headed Boy Part 2. Speaking of which, you might appreciate this:

I choked on nothing from laughing.

Now I want to listen to that album, but after Nirvana, because I just watched a Nirvana Documentary.

Muse - Black Holes and Revelations. Though I only bought it two days ago, I really dig it. Maybe my new-album goggles are on and I think it's the best album ever. So if I had to choose an album I've loved for a long time...

Avenged Sevenfold - City of Evil. So many amazing songs, Beast and the Harlot is probably my favorite song of all time.

Also: this will only be up for a while so enjoy it while you can!

Black and White by The Stranglers. A double punk commentary. With occasional nonsense, such as:
Or,
If Black and White was a downer, I'd say Discovery by Daft Punk might make you feel better.
Also, you can't pass up You're a Woman, I'm a Machine by Death From Above 1979. I mean, you almost would never notice that they were dance-punk.
