Here's a few:

Hexen/Heretic depending on the console/computer.

Legend of Dragoon

Zombies Ate My Neighbors

Final Fantasy Tactics

FF6

(Could you imagine the EPICNESS of watching Sabin suplex the Ghost Train with Next-Gen graphics....that would just be mind-blowing in and of itself.)

And last but not least:

Chrono Trigger

Great music, great gameplay, amazing and interesting characters, great plot, sweet graphics for its time, and of course....Lavos, probably one of the best main bosses ever. This is my number 1 pick to get redone. For a while there, they were gonna do it, but plans got scrapped, just like for FF6.

Actually no, Fallout 3 is not a direct sequel to Fallout 2. Fallout: New vegas was a direct sequel to Fallout 2 because it actually continued the story of the West Coats and the NCR. It also makes references to events, people and things from Fallout 2.
Sorry, by 'direct sequel' it was the next Fallout game after the second...which is also wrong now that I think about it... -_-

edit: ^ I too could totally go for a Legend of Dragoon remake!

Usually I'm good to play old games as they are, but in this case Carmageddon is all I'd want:

Morrowind with Oblivion's graphical quality (a modder tried this but got cease-and-desisted out of existence by Bethesda's lawyers.)
Yeah... that. Also, why are so many people saying 6th gen is old? IT'S NOT OLD IT'S ACTUALLY QUITE RECENT

Congratz on 10k posts, Simulord ^^

Zelda 2, the 'black sheep' of the series which had some interesting ideas along with its difficulty.

Demon's Crest, the most atmospheric game on the SNES, too short and underrated for its own good.

I always prefer remakes to have additional content along with the graphics overhaul and difficulty rebalancing, and would indeed place priority on that for both of those.

Christ... KOTOR is old for you? What do you call Goldeneye, or Quake II? Or god forbid, Wolfenstein 3D, Beneath a Steel Sky or previous games? Ancient?

On topic: None. I might be "that guy" here, but why would we remake games? Generally speaking remakes are the last stand of the terminally unimaginative.

Not to mention, good games were generally designed the way they were ALSO to account for the technological limitations... Change that, and suddenly a lot of things are arbitrary. Take Mario for instances. He was originally designed the way he was so he was recognizable on the very low resolution and color scheme available at the time. It's not that Miyamoto had a hard on for ridiculously dressed Italian plumbers. The whole thing happened for a variety of reasons [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario], a lot of which have been lost in the process, rendering a lot of the design, currently arbitrary.

And honestly, why remake something? We know how it's going to play out. Why make something that was possible on old technology, with new technology? Just make something new. And better.

Jet Set Radio Future
Give it updated cel shaded graphics, fix the camera issues, add a few more songs and I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I want the System Shock games remade. System Shock was an interesting game hamstrung by its pre-WSAD key layout, and System Shock 2 has an inexplicable hatred of modern computers.
Goddamn you stole my idea

I'm perfectly happy with the combat, it was one of my favorite things about the game, so I wouldn't want them to touch it. As for the story...short of removing Vaan altogether, there's nothing they could really do to improve it. It was fine. It certainly didn't seem "ruined", it was as good as any other FF story, which are all admittedly pretty bad anyway. But that's what I expect from a FF game, and a great story would feel out of place.

As for the Ico Collection, has it been confirmed for the US, and do we know how much tinkering they're doing with the graphics? Ico doesn't need work because it had a simple art style anyway, but SotC needs a ton of work.
Don't get me wrong, I called FF12's combat ground-breaking for a reason. But despite how dumb they are, Final Fanatics sometimes conjure legitimate complaints, like the lack of direct control. Ideally, Gambits would automatically be disabled for the party leader, no matter who you choose. That's really the only major flaw in that regard, though. As for the story, I'd feel the same as you if the lead director had a standard FF story in mind to begin with. But no, he was denied the chance to maintain his higher standards and that's just sad. Not that I like to dwell on what could have been, (Because FF12 upped the story standard anyway.) but I am a perfectionist.
I don't know, I liked using gambits even with my party leader. Yeah, the gambit system took away direct control, but on the other hand, it gave you the option of coming up with the best combinations of gambits among the three characters...this one took care of Hastega, that one took care of something else, and the third took care of the third thing. I found that even with all the gambit slots among the three characters, I still wound up using every possible slot for something. That was definitely one of my favorite things about the combat. I certainly didn't miss manually selecting "Attack" or whatnot.
