If you removed any component from MW2 it would just make the "game" more playable as there's less things that can go wrong on you. Broken piece of ...

Horde from Gow2...oh wait...Epic already did that -_-
What do you mean the removed horde from GoW2?
They didn't; they stuck it in GoW3 and give players the ability to earn in-game cash to buy defences from a defence tree. IMO and the opinion of many it's a vast improvement. Other than that it's identical.

Open world gameplay from GTA. Sorry, fans of mafia II, but I didn't enjoy watching gameplay on youtube, and the only satisfaction I got from the demo was going off the path to create all sorts of crazy chaos. The cover based shooting was somehow boring and frustrating at the same time, and I drive like crap so I got a lot of police on me for hit and run all the time, not to mention I also like driving fast, so I also get alot of speeding stars. Not to mention I die in two bullets so if I piss off a gangster and he keeps pulling me out of my car, I can't pull a gun on him to scare him off because he might have a gun and kill me in two shots. Fuck realism. If you like it like that, that's fine. Did I mention I got every one of those experiences in the demo? I don't think I'd last the whole game.

Prince Of Persia Sands trilogy - hehehe, no time rewinds?
OH GOD... that would make the game so much more difficult and it would take a lot longer. I would spend a lot more time being dead than I usually do.

-Timesplitters Future Perfect: Take away the sidekicks in each level. That would remove at least 1/2 the humor from the game.

- Assassin's Creed: No parkour.

- KOTOR: The Force doesn't exist. And everyone is mute.

- Amnesia: Take out the monster that stalks you. Game is no longer scary.

- Twisted Metal 3: Special Attacks, Sweet Tooth

Far Cry 2 - Gun jamming OH NO WAIT THAT WOULD MAKE IT GOOD
Really? Even if you hate weapon jamming, there are far more important things wrong with Far Cry 2. I personally liked the weapon malfunctions for how detailed they were.

Saints Row - cheats.
Seriously, if anyone here has completed, or even enjoyed the first Saints Row without cheats, they must be some omnipotent being. That game is frustrating beyond words even with cheats. Even for me, no achievements is a very necessary sacrifice.

Done it, bro.

On topic (Sorry for the double post)

Melee combat from WH40k Space Marine. Then it's just a regular, copy-paste, cookie-cutter, colorless shooter.

Speed from Sonic the Hedgehog. The ENTIRE point is moving FAST, and timing every movement just perfect. Take that away, focus on the story, and...well you know what happened next.

Mass Effect: both games, remove the dialogue system.
I agree 200%. It just made the game more smooth because I wasn't having to stop to study the dialogue choices to make sure I chose the right one I was looking for. That allowed me to pay better attention to what was being said, instead of worrying about what the next dialogue choices would be and how some random line form what was being said would be important and be a part of the next dialogue choices and be a part of the right choice for me.

That is why I was so thankful to BioWare for integrating it into Dragon Age 2, the dialogue system in DA:Origins is and out dated system. It was just so slow to use and the dialogue used in it was just so blaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.... I really really hope BioWare doesn't listen to people that complained about the new dialogue system being in DA2, because I seriously hoping they keep it in DA3. The ancient system used by DA:Origins is one of the reason I still haven't beat the game. Everything about that game is slow as tar, dialogue, combat, and leveling.

I think that the age of the silent protagonist is over, at least if it isn't I'm going to get a spiked club and beat it to death. I want my games to be fully voiced, especially the character I'm playing. Playing a game like DA:Origins these days, just feels awkward and lacking having everybody around me talking away and talking to my character, while his end of the conversation is just him blankly staring at people like he is trying to speak telepathically. What I found really messed up is they did give the player characters in DA:O voices in combat and while out of dialogue and opening things up, but no voice when in dialogue situations. If they were going to give the player character a voice, they should have made the character fully voiced in all situations, or not voiced the character at all.

-----------

Now for my go, speaking of Dragon Age 2:

Changing back one of the wonderful fixes they made to dialogue, leveling and ability system, combat, and interesting and varied party characters.

Other than there being only 6 or so different dungeon type areas, Dragon Age 2 is a masterpiece.
