Omg I had no idea the chainsaw guy doesnt spawn if you dont go into the house with the shotgun?! I was trying a technique, some guy on here said about jumping out the window of the house with the shotgun and staying on the roof so they enemies are funneled, but I died again. Mostl my fault thoug as I ran outta handgun ammo, I was using it all up on the way to the village.

Anywho I'm gonna try again when I get home, thanks

Here's my strategy:
Go in the house to the left of the fire in the centre of the village. It'll trigger a cutscene where Leon barracades himself in. Raid the lower floor for ammo (you should have around 15 seconds) then head upstairs, smash the glass to grab the shotgun and grenade and immediately jump out of the window near the bed. You won't have long to react, but right in front of you should be a door with a lock on it. Quickly shoot the lock, kick the door in and walk through the little room until you get to another door. Open it and stay in that room. The door you just opened is the only way in and out of the room, so just stay there and shoot anything that comes in and you'll be fine. Oh, and save the shotty for the chainsaw guy

Go upstairs and jump out the window into the village center try to get them all to follow you then shotgun them in the knees and head since there all grouped together you should hit a bunch of them at the same time also reload WHENEVER POSSIBLE

Doctor Salvador will be the biggest threat hes built like a tank but keep shooting at his head and eventually hell go down

if neither tactics work drag the villagers all around the village(shoot them every now and again) eventually the church bell will ring and the villagers will go in the church

Thank you to everyone who replied to this thread, I beat it today, ( I feel special) and am now at the .. forget where, but its like a canyon with the merchant after you are captured with luis.

Anywho, I'm there, and thanks for all the help. In the end, I jumped out of the window of the house with the shotgun, onto the roof, went around to where the spinel is, and just blew em up as they came.
