I dunno, my favourite Resi is the remake of the original on the Gamecube. I don't play a lot of horror games, admittedly, but I find that to be scarier than anything else I've played (including Amnesia). Other than that the only other one I like is 4, which is a great action game tinged with horror. 5 just felt like it was trying to be an action game (which there's nothing wrong with) but had far too awkward controls to manage it. I haven't played 6 and probably won't, but from what I've seen of it, it's kind of lacking focus by having so many playable characters. Resident Evil 1 and 4 wouldn't have been scary if you'd switched between characters and settings all the time, because having a persistent setting is key to making the player feel trapped in a hostile environment. I dunno, I think they should split Resident Evil into two series if they're now trying to fit both the atmosphere of the original and the action of Gears of War into the same game.

I do not believe that R.E6 is a bad game because it does not follow the original games, i actually enjoy the games quite a lot even if they have a different feel to them. The reason why i believe people should not like the game, is for technical problems.
I propose this, and i highly doubt Capcom will ever do this but here goes. How bout have two type of games for resident evil. The Resident Evil we have now, with giant budgets and a different style of gameplay, and then sell a different Resident Evil game that follows the more classic style of gameplay. Even if Capcom would go ahead and not make the game gorgeous with extremely polished graphics, they could release it as a $20 game. Sure this is unrealistic since it is better to assume that they would slap on a 40-60 dollar price tag, but it would let the old R.E fans eat their cake, while the new R.E fans can enjoy the newer style of games so long as they keep a functional game.
Personally i wouldnt mind buying both style of games so long as the games are entertaining, but more on topic i have to say that though the rant could be summed up in a much less hostile way, the internet will always have two sides that try to find valid points for themselves. How about we just make it short and say that both sides have things that are correct and incorrect about them.
P.S i know that this will never ever happen, and i want to say that im not trying to rant/"troll", but if it did come off as that, i am sorry.
