The dedicated server issue will lose these guys money. And for not including all possible options for each version, that's a deserved consequence.

Good thing I was never interested in CoD, or I'd be angry about it.

that shield is the biggest fucking bshit i've ever seen in my life. not only does it stand everything, but it can kill and there is no way to point a gun over it at defending person's head, which anyone with brain would do in order to kill the defending ASSHOAL. we better stick to counter-strike because it goes like this "call of duty" in title = it's bshit.

Campaign: 8 out of 10. No story, but a lot of great action moments.
Special Ops: 10 out of 10. YES. Spec Ops makes MW2 worth it if you have a gaming buddy. Complete epic missions together by using teamwork.
Multiplayer: 7 out of 10. Not as good as COD4's multiplayer. There are too many things, they should have kept it simpler.

Overall: 8 out of 10. Considering most of the replay value is in the multiplayer, and the multiplayer isn't that great, this game doesn't have good replay value and therefore is a rent unless you are a big COD fan.

Why do I have the feeling that the multi-player portion of the game has a gazilion users running around with riot shields. :)
It doesn't. I've hardly seen anyone use them. Maybe 1 out of 100 will, at the most. No one wants to give up their primary weapon slot.

Hmm... seems like the review ignored the matchmaking woes that PC reviews of the same game have been harking on about.

Single player was alright, but I think it falls far below the consistency of CoD4

If you're a console gamer, you will love this game. Don't get confused with PC gamers they are pissed for certain reasons and will over exaggerate how bad they think the game is.

If you own a PS3 or 360 you will love this game.

Campaign 9/10 Special Ops 9/10 Multiplayer 9.5/10

We're pissed because we're not used to wallowing in shit like console gamers are and IW are trying to force us to.

Thus far, I've only seen one honest review of Modern Warfare 2, and it's from Ars Technica.

Yeah, to tell you the truth it is actually kind of hard to use, if you cant see someone you are dead. A lot less cheap than I thougt

Modern Warfare 2 is everything a sequel should be, and more.
Good enough review, but I spotted a glaring problem with that above statement, and that would be under your recommendation.

Recommendation: If you never, ever replay games, and don't play multiplayer, then you should give this one a weekend rental. Otherwise, this game is well-worth your hard-earned cash. Games don't come any more highly polished than this.
See, I fit fairly well into that first category. A game has to have an incredibly appealing story for me to reply it, and multiplayer is a rarity for me at the best of times. Therefore, I think it fairly safe to assume that this is something the game could easily improve upon. Something CoD4, a sequel itself, did readily. I played through the game several times, as the story dragged me in, the gameplay was fun, and on top of that, the story was easily accessible, and not a heap of twists and turns like the road into Switzerland at the end of the 1969-release of The Italian Job.

That being said, I may get this game, though at most it will be a rent.

First, grammar. Second, the sheild is actually a pain to use and really is hard to use. If someone gets out of your feild of view your dead. usually they have a better shot at melleing you. also explosive damage.

In my opinion its a solid game with a great multiplayer. Everybody actually seems to be drawn away because of all the fanboy hype, which is shameful. The game is being punished because it is popular.

And if you are a PC gamer that was your first mistake, no one cares.

Now that is an unfair statement. It takes what has been done before and makes it better while adding so much stuff that has never been done. Its far from generic.

6 to 12 hours to complete the campaign? You can run through the campaign in 4 to 6 hours tops if you die a lot. The only way I could possibly see you get 12 hours out of this campaign is if you play through on each difficultly.
Yeah Really I got it the Saturday prior to official release at about 6pm finished the game at 11 just because I took some breaks in between. If you play the game on the hardest difficulty maybe 10 hrs, but it's a stretch. Despite the length the whole game was skillfully and beautifully done. The story in my opinion was stronger in this game than its predecessor MW1. The Already great Multi-Player was overhauled and made better both in map design and experience.

You heard it first folks. PC gamers are mad because they don't get their wants, so that means the game is bad for everyone. Good logic there.

I agree with every in the review wholeheartedly. I did think it was convienient he left out the completely balls friendly AI. Seriously, that is the worst part of this game, and this is coming from someone who loves the single player campaign.

I had to stop the review at the part where he showed the footage of you and the terrorists getting off the elevator. I just got the game and I am NOT spoiling that part for myself.
