Riddle Thread.

I've got one:

What is greater than God, more evil than the Devil? The poor have it and the rich need it? If you eat it, you will die?

Also, you had better know this one:

And beats high mountain down.

What is it?

First one is Nothing. Nothing at all.
Second one is Time. Clearly somebodies read The Hobbit.

A man lies face down, dead, and naked in an open field. In his hand he holds a straw. In the distance there are high voltage power lines. How did he die?

The man was part of group traveling by hot air balloon. They started to lose altitude and had to avoid the power lines so they threw off their clothes first to lose weight. After that failed, they drew straws to see who had to jump off, and he had the short straw.

My art teacher has tons of these.

There is a way to make sure they both answer the same. It depends on the truthful one telling you a lie also.

You would ask "which way would the other guy go" - Or something like that... I think

Your physics teacher clearly doesn't know his A-level physics then.

Yeah, that must have been a middle school teacher or something. Either that or he spent a long time finding out exactly how high an eleven story building is.

He wasn't walking in the rain? As in, it was raining heavily, but not where the man was?

A woman walks into a restaurant and orders albatross. She takes one bite, leaves the restaurant and later shoots herself in the head. Why did she do it?
A helpful hint: the woman had recently been involved in a plane crash. They had landed on a desert island, many died, and they had initially struggled to find food.

And no, it's not 'cause she didn't like the taste.

Just remembered this: The women was given meat on the island and told it was albatross. It was actually another survivor who had "mysteriously disappeared". She ordered albatross in the restuarant, and when the taste was different she figured it out and killed herself.

So it was, in a way, because she didn't like the taste.
