If I was really rich, I'd like to buy one, even though I don't believe in the 2012 nonsense, they're just that awesome, in my opinion. Do you think you can keep them if the apocalypse doesn't happen? Otherwise it would be a huuuuuuuuuuuge disappointment.

Edit: I know that there was recently a thread were lots of people were saying how they hate the zombie craze, so this might annoy the, but one thing this bunker is lacking is a machine-gun nest in case of a zombie apocalypse... or if someone invades... or both.

I'm going to start beating myself up over not thinking of this first. Idiots with money are the best sort of idiots.

OT:Its not a bad idea for these to be built it would be better if the goverments would fund things like this just in case.
...I'm in England. Why does this mean we're doomed?

Looks like he just buried a caravan... actually that gives me an idea. Meet me in that place we talked about and bring a shovel. We dig for the future!

So long as I get to play Mass Effect 3 before the fiery apocalypse, I could care less...

Seriously though, I'm not betting these actually work. I mean, these haven't been tested after all.
sorry but the bible says
"And when Biowares 3rd 'mass effect' interactive story is released the end of the world will to"
John 23:45

That's a vault-tec experiment right there

So in the end a lazy and incompetant man like me is basically fucked? If you believe that bullshit I mean. Beside, the Mayan calander was re-calculate, that shit ends like 2200+ or something.

Fail on their part.
also the mayan calender ended before and as you see the world is still rotating around the sun

Barstow? What next, they'll make it so the door doesn't close all the way and give them an extra water chip? Watch out for the Master's minions.

Nice picture he sets up there. Bright lights, huge TV, I assume that's a washing machine in the kitchenette, sophisticated air filtration, DNA freezers... um, where does the power come from? How much fuel for it? (I strongly doubt he's got a VaultTec reactor license.) How big is the water reservoir? I see there's protection against budding Tunnel Snakes, at least...

Survivalists are so cute when they try to close their ecosystems. You just want to pat them on the head or something.

Based on the picture, I wouldn't call this "Fallout-esque" at all. I was kinda hoping for a retro-futuristic vibe that the Fallout games aim for, but this just looks modern. I hope that whenever someone decides to build a vault, the Escapist isn't going to jump to label it "Fallout-esque", simply for being a vault.

Interesting little bit of technology.

However, no World of Warcraft and no X-Box? No sale. I've got a mushroom cloud to walk into.

Still surprised that people believe an extinct civ prophecy.

Maybe they ran out of rock?
Actually, there are still full-blooded Mayans alive to this day. I remember going on a cruise and at one of the ports of call, I took a tour of some ancient Mayan ruins and the tour guide said his mother or grandmother was full-blooded Mayan and still spoke the Mayan language, refusing to speak Spanish.
wow im genuanly surpised i knew there where still people with some mayan blood ,like me, but i really didnt know there where any full blooded myans left =)tho they did build some pritty amazing stuff i saw the temples at tikal when i was young , tho i was more interested in feeding the animals my crisps =P...i was like 6 at the time =)
oh ya OT this does look awsome useless but awsome =)
Tikal, eh? I went to the ruins of Tulum. I gotta say, it was a sight I will never soon forget.

You guys might be safe in your bunker, but I'll be murdering Zombies and having the time of my life.
I will probably follow suit and if we meet up, we'll kick some zombie ass Dead Rising 2 style.

That would be one expensive cover charge....though $5000 isn't as bad as some of the other vaults I've seen popping up.
