From the book: "There was once a place in Vivec City - The Ministry of Truth... A moon from Oblivion, floating above the temple district."

* More dialogue about how vivec held it up, died and then the ingenium held it up*
Sul went silent for so long a time that Attrebus thought he wouldn't speak again, but finally he sighed.
"The ingenium exploded. It hurled Vuhon (that's a person, btw)into Oblivion. Then the ministry crashed into the city, and Vvardenfell exploded."

*Gasp*
I quickly uesped it and came across

"Ingenium

The Ingenium was a device designed by Vuhon to hold the Ministry of Truth aloft over Vvardenfell by consuming souls. This process started by using prisoners and undesirables, which resulted in their immediate death. Eventually, it used souls which could continue to feed the ingenium without causing immediate death."

I'm glad it got destroyed if they resorted to sacrifices such as that!

So now you're happy about Vvardenfell being blown up?

I've never played Morrowwind so as such this isn't affecting me whatsoever. But I don't want to be like the jerk of this forum so I offer my...sincerest, condolences.

I tried to be but honestly it was still my second home and I would have happily sacrificed entire town's to keep that thing going.

Oh well, it was a sacrifice for the greater good.
The next game wasn't gonna take place in Vvardenfell anyway, you can just pretend that it's still there.

Well, at least we don't have to wonder what TESV will be like.

Generic RPG land, here we come!

Or not, because Morrowind was interesting. Oblivion was less interesting than where I live. So I'll pass on the next installment of The Generic Scrolls.

Yeah I knew there wasn't going to be another game set there but I liked hearing news from the province from the NPC's now in the next game the Fargoth-y(/annoying fan) character will just be there saying "They got PWNED ROFL" and I will kill him. Repeatedly.

Well maybe it will start being rebuilt by the next game.

I read that book and I seem to remember vvardenfell being described as a big old pile of ashes and dead people. I'll find the actual description later.
That's pretty much what Vvardenfell was in the game, too.
Especially the dead bodies part after my Nerevarine went a bit loopy.
That made me laugh, on account of that being exactly what Vvardenfell looked like after I was done too.
A game of Morrowind isn't truly complete until the final nail is driven into the coffin of that ash-covered backwater. Thanks to Mark and Recall you can even get both the Argonian and the Breton who are on either side of the portal to Mournhold. Everybody dies as soon as the last quest is complete.

This is true! Isn't there a certain sort of time though before you can repopulate an area affected by a volcano? Then again they have MAGIC or more accurately MAGICKA!

Maybe they'll use conjuration magicka to summon minions to help build things.

oh god tell me the dwemer artifacts and ruins are okay.
I'm sure the Nerevarine probably took some with him when he ventured to Akavir. (The artifacts, not the ruins. He was powerful but not THAT powerful.)

The book isn't old, and it is cannon. He didn't break the lore, in fact he got help from todd howard, pete hines, the uesp and the imperial library website to get all the canon lore.

also, that book is OLD. the book itself is not canon because the author didnt even play morrowind and broke all the lore. i doubt it would contain the explanation to bit of lore in an elder scrolls game in the future.
About a year old and considering it's on the UESP/Imperial Library timeline I believe it infact is considered canon now.

Edit: Damn, beat too it!
