its only a matter of time until the Japanese army is led by terminators bent on human annihilation.

Only in Japan can you make a robotic Pedobear to take care of your children and have it not only be okay, but be entirely AWESOME and ADORABLE at the same time.

Why does every robot-related article end with some snide remark alluding to a mecha takeover?
I'm surprised there hasn't been a Skynet comment in this thread yet.
Does it count that I'm wearing my "Skynet Development Team" T-Shirt?
Only if you tell me where you got it. I need one, now that I've heard about it.

Before everyone accuses Japan of being wierd, it might be expedient to remember that the US army has something very similar in development to help get soldiers out of warzones. They didn't want the robot to threaten the wounded soldiers it was carrying, so what did they do? Gave it the head of a bear...and it frankly looks a whole damn lot creepier and more cylon-like than the Japanese one! I still think it's a cool idea though.

Creepy as hell but not very cylon like. I was hoping for a big chrome body with a pusling red eye and the phrase "By your command!". Still very creepy to have this thing hold someone.
