God, that's awful. And Rockstar used to have such excellent box arts in the past. Like the GTA games or Max Payne.

It looks like a movie tie-in game.

Yeah that's exactly what I thought. Come on Rockstar, this is L.A Bland, why is it so hard to make a Noire cover for your game?

I think it looks good. It has the noir feel it needs. Maybe they could´ve desaturated the image, but other than that i dont get why everyone´s complaining.

Ha! That was my exact reaction: "Wow, this cover sucks. I bet the Euro version is amazing!"

Ok, all ye photoshop wizards in the audience (you know who you are). Give us a proper LA Noire cover. Best one gets a badge.
Dem sound like fightin' words missy!

You on!

(Or, as soon as I find my copy of photoshop... Damn...)

Damnit Rockstar, what the hell? Seriously, I'm so glad I don't live in America when it comes to these little things, since they seem to ruin all of the appeal of the game to me.

We'll be getting some seriously cool boxart in Aus at least.

This is the European version.

Much better tbh.
Better. Not blow me away amazing, or anything, but definitely better.
How is that better?
It's the same imagine cropped out and put in front of a building...

I don't think it looks so bad. Sure it would have been nice if they went with something in keeping with the film noir style but as far as box art goes I'd give it a 7/10.

EDIT: If you want truly bad box art I just picked up the Epic Edition of Bulletstorm and I can't even figure out what it's meant to be.

EDIT EDIT: Ohhhhh...it's the bottom of a boot. Lame...great game though.

It's cleaner. Fewer images fighting for your attention.

I'm surprised that the covers didn't go for the, y'know, *noir* style of low-set lights and high contrast. While we don't want every game to look like Limbo, you could easily turn a simple cover into a black-and-white masterpiece.

EDIT:

Now isn't that better? A greyscale filter and a little texture smoothing makes it look a little more genre-y. And I'm terrible at photoshop, imagine if it was in the hands of someone *competent*!

After this, Heavy Rain and Infamous 2 I'm so glad I live in Europe. Who cares if we get games later, at least our box art is stylish. Sadly I probably won't be buying it as its not coming for PC. DAMN YOU ROCKSTAR!!!

That's what I was thinking, it's not very evocative of what it is...in fact, in my opinion it looks vastly superior just by gray-scaling it:
Not bad, but Europe one is still better. Replace the womans face with the building in the Euro version and I'll buy the game :)
