With that oh so depressing holiday coming again *sigh* I thought I'd get into the mood just a little and start a realated thread.

What is the most Romantic game you've ever played?

Personally for me its a battle between Sands of Time and Shadow of the Colossus (just playing now)

Sands of Time has one of the most believable romances I've ever seen in a game between two great characters. But with Shadow of the Colossus (assuming the girl is his girlfriend) is one of the most Romantic concepts I've ever heard for...possibley anything. How much do I love you exactly? Ohh, I don't know, I'd risk my life over and over against 16 unbeatable monsters for you.

I agree with the Sands of Time. The ending was very sad because of this.
I'd also mention The Sims, you can make this game as romantic as you like.

Portal was also pretty romantic. You have no idea what Cell was doing to the cube when you wern't looking.

I'd say the Metal Gear series- maybe that's just me.
The newest Spyro game was kind of romantic- you could give your co-op partner your health to save them. Aww. And the dragons totally want to get it on with each other.

If any game reminded me of a chick flick, it would have to be Dreamfall - The Longest Journey. I know it doesn't fit the whole romance thing, but it could've really developed more and been ok in that game.

Max payne 2, maybe? Max lost his family and was betrayed by his best friend; Mona's sister was killed and she got a bullet in the head. So it's the romance between the man with nothing to loose and the woman who's already dead.

In the circumstances, it sounded quite plausible, and quite cool.
