Marcus was falling asleep on his hammock, the gentle sound of the ocean waves and the natural rocking of the ship made his eyelids heavy. His eyes closed for a second as he slipped into peaceful slumber when he heard it. The commanders voice seeped through the cracks of the floorboards and drifted down to the below decks. Immediately afterwards, Marcus heard the sounds of a struggle and a splash in the water. "MAN OVERBOARD!" he heard Scaurus yell.

Marcus wasted no time, he sprang off his hammock and made for the upper deck, reaching for his daggers as he ran. He reached the ladder that led to the moonlit upper deck when he saw Glabrio climb down. "What happend?" Marcus inquired, hands still on the dagger belt. "What was that commotion all about?"

"Some Roman hating swine tried to stab me." Glabrio said gruffly. "He said we killed his family, the madman. Of course, he has been dealt with." Glabrio felt the unease from his men. "This was not just some random killing. I'd like to make it clear that we don't work like that, understood?" Glabrio then turned to the rest of the crew.

"But if anyone thinks to try anything which I think threatening, they'll be at the bottom of the ocean like your friend down there!"

A hush descended over the crew, the only sound that could be heard was that of the ocean and the gentle creaking of the timbers on the ship. Marcus relaxed his grip on his weapons. "The sooner we get to Massalia the better" he said quietly. "At this rate we are likely to find ourselves cast adrift on the high seas with nothing but an oar" he looked about at the crew that had slowly dispersed to go back to their daily routine, talking amongst each other in hushed voices. "..or stabbed in our sleep"

He patted Glabrio on the shoulder and turned to leave. "I'll check up top to see what everyone else is doing". With that he climbed the ladder leading to the ships upper deck. He saw Travian standing near the edge of the ship, peering into the darkness with his bow drawn and ready to fire.

"The Gaul is still breathing. I say we get what we can out of him before we execute him" Scaurus draggs him to the mast and ties him there. He slaps the gaul in the face several times to wake him up. "tell the truth!"

I'm sorry, but that's not a possibility. It was only meant to be a short episode to liven up the journey.

The man's at the bottom of the ocean. He's definitely not breathing.

Also, please try to increase your grammar, I'd really appreciate it (although I'm not sure if English is your first language).

Nero shook his head as he looked at the Gaul.
"Just tip him back over, even if he is still breathing he wont be for much longer."
Nero grudgingly returned to the lower decks shaking his head at the unnessasery commotion.
That Gaul isn't the only one that needs to be thrown overboard.

Is it ok with everyone if I were to skip the remainder of the boat journey and move on to Masillia? After a few replies I'll make my mind up.

I go back to my cabin, bar the door from the inside and wait for the journey to end, only leaving at midnight to get food for the next day.

Nero goes back to his mundane practising as before, block, thrust, reverse. Block, thrust, reverse. After an hour of repeating the technique he knew so well Nero collapsed in his bed, it would be a long journey if this keeps up.
I'm good with skipping it, the boat is very limiting.

Don't mind

Abdul had not bought anything on the boat, trusting again the iron of his axe and shield was all he would need to survive in Gaul.

After a solid and tiring two-week journey the crew were suddenly greeted with the majestic sight of Southern Gaul. At this time of the year it was covered in frost and snow, and Glabrio was glad of his thick fur coat which adorned his armour. As the driving rain assualted the harbour like thousands of angry arrows, Glabrio and his band of men stepped off of the boat, the cold battering them as though Gaul itself was hostile towards them.

Glabrio climbed up on to a rock overlooking the whole harbour and prepared to make his speech of arrival.

I'll post the speech later this evening (or morning if you're from America), I've got to go and play tennis of all things. While you're waiting, feel free to insert interesting little goings-on.

Before I leave the boat, I sneak into their supply store and poison their water supply. Because I can.

Travian stared into the wintery abiss, going back to the bar fights, the lusty maiden's with knives in there skirts, the Thugs, the corrupt guards...why did he leave? he sighed, tugging his cloack hood closer to his head, tryingo to warm himself up. it was going to be a cold day.

Yeah, alright then. You'll be an exception though, as I'd rather we didn't have any more new members after this. But hey, welcome, and I hope you enjoy this RP.

Glabrio looked down at the assortment of individuals below him. This was only a sleepy port town a few miles West of Massilia, and most of its inhabitants were either drunk, working, elderly, or all three. Nonetheless, Glabrio intended to begin his mission with a positive statement. He prepared to shout.

"Citizens of Gaul! Gather round, I say gather round!" After several repetitions of this, a number of curious locals had accumulated around Glabrio. "Citizens, me and my band of men," he motioned at his companions, "we have arrived at your shores to spread a message! A message of strength, of peace, and of honour. This message I speak of is the Roman message! As the loyal subjects to Julius Caesar, your town will be restored to order! We have strict commands to spread the glorious message of the Roman Empire, and to eliminate any of you who disagree. Who among you objects to Roman rule?"

An overwhelming silence filled the square, before mutating into a low murmur. Suddenly, a small cluster of young men yelled at Glabrio.

"We object!" A gasp of astonishment rippled across the crowd. "We will not be dictated to by Roman pigs! If you wish to silence us, prepare for retribution!" At this, the crowd started to back away, as an increasingly angry Glabrio pushed his way towards these objectors, followed by his men. His face was flushed with anger, as he drew close to the men. They stood there, snickering and chuckling to themselves, something which angered Glabrio further. He growled through gritted teeth.

"Are you saying that you object to Roman rule?"

"Yeah, I am, swine." More chuckling ensued. Glabrio felt his hand touch his sword hilt.

"Bad decision." The glint of Glabrio's sword flickered momentarily through the air, before it was overshadowed by a flood of red bursting out from a decapitated Gaul. He looked calmly at the other men.

"Do you wish to object too?" The men stood, shaking.

"No...." they trailed off. Glabrio bellowed into their ears.

"I didn't hear you! Do you object?" At this sudden shock the men began to weep like children. "Pathetic" Glabrio commented, before wiping his sword clean and returning it to its sheath.

Name: Jeremiah

Place of Birth: Somewhere on the coast of Judea

Profession: Escaped slave, does whatever he can to get by

Age: 19

Appearance: Skin deeply tanned by the Mediterranean sun, with unruly black hair. Isn't a particularly large man but is well muscled from years of hard labor and rough living.

History: Jeremiah was born only a few years before the Romans occupied Judea. He didn't remember much of life before the Romans, but he knew his homeland was better off without them. At the age of 14 he joined a group of rebels living in the hills. It was then that he learned the art of combat and killing, as well as stealth, stealing, and ambushes. A failed assassination of a Roman officer got him captured and sent to Rome as a slave. He was sold to a wealthy government official, but got away when he became romantically involved with his master's daughter, who helped him escape.

Jeremiah headed north and wandered across the Italian countryside until he came to the coast and found work aboard a ship. A few weeks ago he ditched the ship when it was in port in Gaul, and has been working and stealing for a living since.

Story: Jeremiah leaned against the wall of a tavern, watching a group of Romans and the scene they were making with comtempt. "I guess nothing boosts your self confidence more than lopping off the heads of a few innocent Barbarians" he muttered under his breath. "Those Romans must be pretty insecure."

It was then that his eyes rested on the shiny shortsword the Roman leader had just sheathed. A decent weapon would sure help out my situation he thought to himself. He quickly formulated a plan. All Romans were alike, it wouldn't be long before they ended up in some tavern drunk on wine and passed out or distracted by a pretty girl. Then their posessions are as good as mine. Wrapping his fur cloak around him which had previously belonged to the last bastard unlucky enough to find himself alone in an alley, Jeremiah moved forward and blended into the crowd, hoping to follow the Romans.

Travian Laughed " Lord Glabrio, surely we can go a few moment's without murder, can we not?" he turned to the crowd, raising his arms along with his voice " People, nothing to see here. return to your Merry-ment." He turned to his allies, his voice much lower " we should see to a tavern. if your not drinking, your planning something, and I think after the commanders...Activity, we should try and maintain a low profile"
