Are you kidding me?
This is as bad as the Fallout MMO.
Not every franchise has to be turned into an MMO, people. You won't be World of Warcraft, you won't beat World of Warcraft, you don't have to try and steal their pie.
Geez. What's next? A Mario MMO?
Count me out.
I dunno, a Fallout MMO could be really cool if it's done properly. A Fallout MMO would definately have great exploration value since you're able to wander around Earth and visit real places that exist today - 200 years after a nuclear war.
Personally, I'd like a Fallout online game done in Diablo style but less linear and with Fallout 3's interface. Each act could be a different place on Earth and you could team up with up to 7 other players to clear content and do quests. Act One, for example, could be the Washington DC Ruins.
Generally speaking, I like the idea of a Fallout MMO. It'd be a good way to expand the world, as long as it's done properly, and there would be plenty of things to see and do. One of the main problems I have with it is atmosphere; when you've got a large number of players wandering around the same area killing
boars molerats and hunting for phat lewts, it sort of loses that bleak, post-apocalyptic "dog-eat-dog, every man for himself" vibe that is the world of Fallout. It's a matter of atmosphere, really, and I just don't see how an MMO can maintain the same atmosphere of the Fallout series.
OT: Yeah, I don't really play MMO's at all, but I have absolute confidence in the ability of a Bioshock MMO to fail to deliver in every aspect possible. I really don't see any justification in continuing the story. Bioshock was good, yes, but we really don't
need any more, and producing more anyway will most probably do much more harm than good. And yes, there really are far too many MMOs on the market these days.
