Does this guy work for another company, and is undercover. And his mission is to take down LA from the inside. Because it sure seems like it.

I can see it now... The Force Unleashed 3 cancelled in favour of a Jar Jar Bink virtual pet game for the Kinect...

And I die a little inside.

As long as he doesn't mess with SWTOR he can whatever he bloody well likes.

But... I have a bad feeling about this.

They're doing it wrong.

If anything, the should make LucasArts more about licensing their brands to more competent developers, and cut focus on internal development to a minimum.

I mean, yeah, too bad about the people losing their jobs, but I'm thinking about the games here. >_>

Not entirely sure canceling FU3 is a bad thing though.

The first game was pretty bad...

Lucas Arts doesn't have much of an internal dev team anymore, so this decision is dubious at best. What good (Star Wars) games has Lucas developed recently? Republic Commando and Force Unleashed 1 (which had a fair share of problems). Beyond that, all of the good SW games were done by other developers under licences.

Basically, this means that we'll see fewer good SW games than ever (and they are a rare breed already) and more Lucas shovelware. Whooop-the-figgin-dooo.

Also, how does this make ANY sense in regards to the profit margin? Selling licences is pretty much printing money. You take no risk, don't need to invest anything, people just pay you money to use your IP. Nothing is preventing you to focus on in-house development and it's not like the market is oversaturated with SW games.

I'm pretty sure Mr. Meegen has a picture of Bobby Kotick on his nightstand and dreams of becoming just like him when he grows up...

Am I the only person who couldn't care less about this? Really, who cares about these Lego games and endless Force Unleashed sequels. LucasArts hasn't put out a good Star Wars game since the old flight sim X-Wing games. Lucas himself cares about nothing but making giant piles of money.
See, that's the whole point. The good SW games come from other developers. By cutting them off, we're left with no good SW games...

Blah blah blah. CanitnowbeStarWarsBattlefront3tymenaplz?

Seriously - fully online and fully supported with regular patching and DLC and Battlefront 3 would be a major competitor for any game coming out in the near future. I sank hours into Battlefront 2 by itself, as well as the first.

I feel bad for the staff who may loose there jobs, and for the loss of games like Lego Star Wars but....

Force Unleashed 3 possibly cancelled?

Hell f***king yes, kill it with fire and make a real Jedi Knight game like you used to.

They're going the casual route. Instead of Force Unleashed 3, it's Forceville. You train various padawans for a particular amount of time, then you kill them when they're ripe, earning you force points and midichlorians, which allows you to train more padawans. Also, it's going to be ported only to PC users...

...via Facebook.
I will end you >.> Shut the hell up before they get anymore stupid ideas. Clearly they're listening to them.

One should see the good side, with that management I don't see how long Lucas Arts will survive anymore... I anyway wonder how they still manage to exist... I mean they hardly seem to be making any games... whenever I heard any news about them lately it was often "this and that got cancelled"

George Lucas is all about the merchandising, do you really think he will let a potential cash cow like the Force Unleashed franchise die?

Seems that LucasArts have gone downhill dramatically since Darrell Rodriguez resigned, assuming this is true. And, to be honest, I doubt it: blocking anyone from your license, especially one as big as Star Wars, seems to me to be suicidal. Also, no Tales of Monkey Island 2 would make me sad.
