I know. I just like the Star Wars ones the best.tomtom94 said:Oh I do love the Lego games, and they'll still be fun, they just won't do Star Wars any more, they'll do the other Harry Potter films, etc.Shepard said:Why not? The Lego games are fun. Besides they could change things. Make improvements to the Lego games over time.tomtom94 said:Let's be honest though, where exactly can they take it now? Go through all the games so you end up with a game mocking games based on a movie that you've mocked previously?Shepard said:I hope Paul Meegan gets fired. Lego Star Wars is awesome.
No no no no no! People will LOVE it! It'll be the highest selling game to ever exist and be the only reason the Kinect and the Move were successful. Why? Because everyone's buying it to torture a virtual Jar Jar Binks. > Don't you see the potential of having a Jar Jar Binks whose very life and happiness rests in your hands? It's such potential for evil!Kmadden2004 said:I can see it now... The Force Unleashed 3 cancelled in favour of a Jar Jar Bink virtual pet game for the Kinect...
And I die a little inside.
As someone else pointed out up above, having three games in a series is not milking it. Were we at, say, five games in the series, and the mechanics had barely changed and they were starting to call it The Force Unleashed 2011, I'd agree with you.Trogdor1138 said:THEY WERE PLANNING A THIRD!!!???? We didn't even need a second one. They sure know how to milk the fucking franchise for all it's worth.... again.
Depends how badly they intend on fuckin up the sequel. He might have seen what they were doing and said "yep 3 is a no go"008Zulu said:George Lucas is all about the merchandising, do you really think he will let a potential cash cow like the Force Unleashed franchise die?
And they have to be released within a short time scale. No-one's accusing Firaxis of milking the Civ series, despite six games (if you count Revolution) by September and countless expansions.Broken Blade said:As someone else pointed out up above, having three games in a series is not milking it. And even then, that's no guarantee that they're "milking it." There's been nine Ratchet & Clank games released in the last eight years (two of them made by another studio, but they're in canon so they count), plus a tenth game coming out next year, and I certainly wouldn't accuse Insomniac of "milking" that franchise (others might, but each game is different from its predecessor and they mix it up to keep things interesting). And they've been working on the Resistance franchise, which has had two proper games and a side game since 2006 and has the third game next year.Delusibeta said:And they have to be released within a short time scale. Haha win.Paksenarrion said:They're going the casual route. Instead of Force Unleashed 3, it's Forceville. You train various padawans for a particular amount of time, then you kill them when they're ripe, earning you force points and midichlorians, which allows you to train more padawans. Also, it's going to be ported only to PC users...

It makes perfect sense if those staff were a problem to Meegan. He's the new captain. He may be cleaning his deck. There are other people in the world who can make games for LucasArts, perhaps ones who aren't mourning over a project's corpse.Logan Westbrook said:If the rumors are true, then LucasArts will presumably be focusing on internal development, but if that's the case, then letting staff go doesn't seem to make sense. It's possible that Meegan wants to release a smaller number of titles each year however, which theoretically would need fewer staff.
The second game isn't even out and they were already organizing the third, I considered it milking, especially since I've known a lot of people who disliked the first game. It just seems like they're rushing it along and there could be a lot more done with it, I'm a lifelong Star Wars fan and just don't like how it's been going lately.Broken Blade said:As someone else pointed out up above, having three games in a series is not milking it.
