And of course, you'll be buying 4 games in order to play with friends because splitscreen is a thing of the past. Only 2 multiplayer maps will be released and there will be subsequent updates with more maps (ripped out of the old game with no modifications) that will be sold for fat cash. Ooh and how about they put in some sort of a subscription service!

And killing someone with it will still feel that much sweeter. Unless you choose Oddjob, then everyone will just hate you.
I've yet to meet anyone who admits to liking when someone plays as Oddjob. I usually pick Boris or Baron Samedi (the former because I like his shirt and the latter because I like his hat).

Funnily enough I'm hosting a LAN today where we'll be trying the new GoldenEye Source Beta 4 AND the original. I just set up my 64 with it last night. I hope if anything happens it's good and that they don't try to shut down the Source remake. Also, if anything I have fonder memories of TWINE than GoldenEye, so I can cope with the same people working on it (but then, how many of them are the same folks from over ten years ago?).

Well, if they are doing a remake they need to use Pierce Brosnan for the avatar, since the script, plot, dialogue, etc... were all written for his Bond. Daniel Craig is good, but this isn't the kind of thing his Bond does, being a more realistic/thuggish take on the character, Russian satellite death lasers aren't really the schtick he's known for.

I'm not saying you couldn't do a good Bond game based on his version, simply that he's wrong for this material. They very much changed the character and the atmosphere when they changed actors.

That said with the delay in / cancellation of the franchise due to the studio's money problems, I think anything being done with the liscence is a good thing. I've grown up with James Bond, and would hate to see the franchise die.

Microsoft bought Rare. There's no fucking way this would be on the Wii but not the 360.
Activision own the rights to the Bond License, and it was on Nintendo's system. It's highly unlikely it'll end up on the 360.

I really don't think this needs to be remade. A high-def update maybe for XBLA would be nice, but I fail to see how they'll match, or improve upon, a game that has been etched into the minds of thousands upon thousands or nostalgiac gamers all around the world.

Oh and another thing. That picture made me realise the Klobb is basically a Skorpion. I'd never paid attention before. (Skorpion is my favourite gun in CoD 4, much to the amusement of my friends)

EHHHHHHH some things should just be left alone. Goldeneye was great but a remake will probably just ruin it.

I really want that unnecessary Wiimote attachment. Oh the Klobb...you were so great for humiliation kills. However...I rather see it on the Xbox or PS3 to be honest. Oh well.

I think (and I hope) it's gonna be a Wii exclusive, although I'm a bit dissapointed that Rare has nothing to do with this, but also makes a lot of sense since the rights to 007 belongs to Activision and remaking the old GoldenEye story, some modern fancy graphics and controls, and add in some online multiplayer with achievements (or something similar if it's gonna be for the Wii) then I'm (wet) sold.

I'm surprised that Nintendo has managed to cut Microsoft out of the proceedings (assuming this is true). But then again, they did capture Banjo-Kazooie & Perfect Dark.

While Nintendo's selling of Rare did transpire to be a good move (how many genuinely good games have Rare released since?), I still can't help but feel that Nintendo missed a trick in not doing a deal with Rare's back catalogue other than properties already owned by Nintendo (i.e: the Donkey Kong games).

This would be the one reason for me to buy a Nintendo Wii. I absolutely ADORED Goldeneye 007 as a kid!
