Wait, what? Don't get me wrong, I like Johnny Depp and all... but why can't they go with the current Doctor? Unless there's a good explaination for that, otherwise, I'm not so sure...

If it isn't fake, I won't even watch it no matter what happens. The only way I would watch a Doctor Who movie is if it was Tennant playing The Doctor in a story that of course occurs before his regeneration. I would also watch if it was Matt Smith, but I am not crazy about him, i.e.(This season's finale was crap, worst ever.)jonnosferatu said:
The reason I wouldn't watch it if they do go through with what the article said, is because it wouldn't be cannon. It is the whole reason I won't watch the movies from long ago called "Doctor Who and the Daleks", and I don't remember the name, "some other one with Daleks". The only thing Doctor Who about those are that they have Daleks. The person playing The Doctor was someone non-cannon, and it is said that in those movies that the Doctor is just a human, no timelord, and is just a scientist.
I hope it won't count as canon like the last one, poof, one less regeneration after one more movie.

If they pick someone new, it is automatically crap, because it will be non-cannon. I jumped for joy when Russell T. Davies relinquished control over to Steven Moffat. But it looks like Davies is mucking it about again trying to ruin things for fans....for money. As from the Davies quote from the article, he said it would reach more than just fans. The only reason that would be wanted is to get money.
Actually the 8th Doctor Paul Mcgann, had quite a long run as The Doctor, of course he only showed up on film in the 1996 movie, but he had a long run on the radio. Doctor Who did go off the air on television in 1989 but it continued on the radio until the tv resurface in 2005. And I believe it is still on the radio.RobCoxxy said:
