I love it, people ***** at Microsoft when they don't fix something, and then when Microsoft does finally fix it, they ***** because they took too long. Hey guys, consider yourselves fortunate that an issue this small was addressed at all. Most companies wouldn't even look twice at an issue like this. Especially considering that they're most likely already at work on designing the next generation of the Xbox, plus keeping Live running as smooth as they can.

The color scheme looks like crap and the d-pad will probably still be crappy even with the new system. Also, $65 for a controller? They probably just did this because of how good the Onza looks

This came out a couple years too late, so thanks but no thanks Microsoft. Already have a Street Fighter fightpad (£25).

This must cost alot to tinker with. No wonder they're raising the price of XBL. (jk. jk)

I like this. It is a little late, but better late than never.

Also, people are complaining too much. It doesn't just go up and down. From what I got, when you lock it down, it becomes a traditional d-pad with just the four directions instead of the thumbstick-like nature of the original. It's pretty innovative how they got the best of both worlds here.

Maybe designing one that won't lose its center-point in less than 2 months of use? I've had 2 brand new ones that broke almost immediately and had me running into walls constantly.

Also, making it $60 is fucking insane - it's a $20 piece of hardware, tops.

Finally, I'd prefer one that had a decent "straight" setting, for driving games - I'm tired of constantly having to edge left and right as I'm going down the fucking straightaway.

Not a fighting game fan, and honestly in the games I do play the d-pad is pretty inconsequential. I don't think I'm gonna get this, I'm happy with my controllers as they are, but I'm sure a lot of people WILL be happy to hear this.

Ironically, the thing that bothers me about this controller? The white-and-black color scheme, with no color on the buttons. Seeing as I'm not a fighter-game player, this will have absolutely no impact on my decision to not buy one. Still, I understand the frustration of that D-Pad... right now, all it's good for is changing weapons and calling in airstrikes...

I'll give it a try-out over at PAX and see. I'll keep ya all posted.

Now that we have a video update, I must say that I'm rather impressed. If it's taken them this long to create a functional D-pad because they were busy making this thing, and if this D-pad actually works, I withdraw my complaint about Microsoft not giving a damn about the consumers.

And about the price point, seeing as it comes with a Play and Charge Kit, I can let that slide. And now we wait for November to see if the fucker works properly.

I guess I'm a little late to the party and never knew this, but $65 for a control? Holy shit. I mean my keyboard and mouse were both $80 each, but they are fully programmable Razer things, but damn... Guess that is what happens when you only play single player with consoles, sure is a helluva lot cheaper.

Sounds cool, but I dont play fighting games.

My only problem with the new design is that the disc might accidentally spin back, especially in an intense fighting marathon. I think I know how too fix it, but the device for it is not coming to my mind >.<

I haven't had a problem due to the thing being raised what I have had a problem is due to responsiveness. As sometimes I would be playing SF4 and do a hadoken motion but come up with a Shoryuken or sometimes I would do a Shoryuken and get a Hadoken. If they could fix that happening it would be great.

Besides fighting games I'm trying to think of a time where the d-pad is needed and all I can think of is the dashboard, your CoD killstreaks and occasionally weapon selection

Also the removal of the coloured buttons is just stupid - ""okay press X!" "which one's X?!" "The gray one!! No! The darker gray one!"

Well, that's great and all, but shouldn't they have had this in the first place? It doesn't seem fair to make people pay for something that should have been free in the first place.

Oh, wait. This is Microsoft we're talking about.

Keep in mind the controller ONLY comes with the plug and play charger - so that's what's making up the high price. But still you can get a regular controller with the same charger for about half the price now
