I think that ES:5 would probably be set in Akavir, with them starting a war by taking advantage of the Oblivion crisis in Cyrodil, given what some NPCs seem to be foreshadowing.
Yeah, I want to know what the Naravarine is upto.

Plus, Morrowind's world was so much more interesting than Oblivion. I want to see a real scale vardenfell (It must have been scaled down. You want to tell me the biggest city on Vardenfell is smaller than the rural village down the road from me?)

I hold out hope that they'll do an Arena all over again and recreate the entire damn world (well Tamriel at least), though I know it would take too much time and effort, still whatever they make I will buy and undoubtedly enjoy as I do all TES games.

I'm expecting some Steampunk, but being realistic, there's not a lot you can do in 200 years. Maybe nicer gear, that's it.
Agreed, steampunk would be the main theme in my mind.

I hope to... (*thinking time*).... shagorath, that it doesn't include rifles. Maybe a single shot, long reload, blunderbus, but i would hope it stays with medieval level tech. A jump from 1100 style to 1300s tyle wouldn't be all that different, but say 1500s style to 1700s would totaly change TES.

I want a 'Bird race' of people. =[

The only gun I'm hoping for is a small heavy musket that takes a minute to reload and has the accuracy of a retarded baby throwing a small pebble, but with the force of a giant retarded baby chucking a mountain.
Pure brilliance =)

Oh please no, not guns. That would really kill the 'fantasy' feel that I like so much. (I'm looking at you, FABLE)

I remember another game that came out recently, set a few hundred years after the first, it had guns, what was it called again? Fairy Tale? No no.. Legend? No.. Oh yeah Fable II! Sorry but if they go and make TES anthing other than pure non gun fantasy, I will not be a happy fan.

most likely some small advancements will have been made in cyrrodiil, perhaps they have found better ways to lock their door so thiefs dont get in, ( ;) ) which would be fun, and maybe htey have more easily understood metal making and casting, and now will create spears or polearrms, making ofor new weaponry. or perhaps they have run into a divinci like man, who had things like his not very famous "tank' or his submarine, creating for new forms of transport, which was a dire need in cyrrodiil. who knows what sort of beauty beth will craft. main things i missed in oblivion was smart people, semi okay graphics, free DLC, dragons to maul, shurkens, and weapon crafting.

(weapons would be created through parts found all throughout cyrrodiil, not like fallout 3's crafting, but stuff you can actually see on the weapon, hilt, blade, guard/ no guard. stuff lie that. )

Probably won't be much different. Take into account that something like the musket probably wouldn't come into existence because in elder scrolls people can shoot fireballs out of their hands.

Interesting... Could be fun. Guys, why assume there will be advanced technology? It's not Earth, and the have magic. Why have vehicles when you can teleport. Why need guns when you can throw fireballs? Hopefully they vary the scenery a bit more.

There won't be guns.
Unlike our world, the elder scrolls universe has been in technologocal stagnation for thousands of years.
Placing the development of medieval tech as the start of the medieval period, the elder scrolls universe would be far in our future, say... the year 5000, at least.
As much as I love steampunk, it will only happen in TES if a game is released that takes place wherever the dwemeri have gone to, or if they somehow come back.
It would be great to see the re-emergence of the dwemeri, but their technology was never very welcome outside their ranks, and they seem more likely to build automated crossbows than blunderbusses.

I can't wait for this game.
No it just can have guns.. leave that to fallout 3

However i wouldn't mind a bow and arrow with a laser dot sight ;)

If they remove the fanatasy setting I'm going to punch someone, seriously.

But, maybe 200 years isn't that much >.>

NO. No no no.

This a very bad idea. Elder scrolls does not need guns that is Fallout's niche not ES.

EDIT: for clarity. I believe that with that type of year gap they can't help but bring guns and shit into it and that is not good
I agree.

Vvardenfell with renaissance level technology, maybe even hunting Cliff Racers (to extinction) with a musket? That sounds pretty cool to me!
NO. WAY.

It would ruin the series for me.

Like most other people, I say that the Elder Scrolls would not benefit from firearms. Plus, I want the option to be a werewolf again, that was one of my favourite parts of Morrowind.

Okay why is everyone comparing TES to Fable? They're two completely different games, one is an 'open world immersive rpg' and one is...well...Fable. Over the span of the games, I think there's been about 7 games and 6 expansions, they've all had one thing on common and that's the swords and fireball setting.

The world has only got more civilized, not more technologically advanced, in fact they hint at some sort of voodoo curse befalling any race that advances too far and with the amount of gods, real living smiting gods in the world I can believe that they are holding the races back easily enough.

Also, YEAH! NEW ELDER SCROLLS GAME! *bounce bounce bounce* I am worried though that the rumors it will be an MMO will prove to be true. I've no interest in MMO's anymore.
