For some reason, the good ending of inFamous 2. I was fully expecting it, didn't care for Cole or Kuo, but damn, Zeke's monologue made me real sad.

Aww, wha? Thanks for spoiling that >=/

Seriously what gives with this thread and so many people not using the darned spoiler-tags?

Anyway, my saddest moments goes to Valkyria Chronicles, Ace Combat 5 and Persona 4
When Isara died, Alicia's epic quote: "I never wanted this!" and the underchapter called "Love" after Diverting the Marmota...
When "Chopper" crashes his plane into the stadium after keeping the damaged plane as long as physically possible so that everyone could evacuate.
When the MC has to say goodbye to all of his friends and leave on the train. I felt sad 'cause it felt like I had to leave real friends. I don't think any other game has done that to me.

Slightly off-topic, but I saw someone mention Shadow of the Colossus... Seriously?
What? I can't have been the only one going "YES! The f*ckin' horse died! Haha, serves ya right!" ...am I the only one who wanted to send his arse into a glue-factory for running into rocks/getting in the way of my arrows/chasing away lizards?
Oh, you must be the 0.01% of the population that doesn't know that Aerith Dies

The end of Arkahm City. I swear, if I hadn't had it ruined for me by my fucking prick of a friend, I probably would have cried.

"looking down the sights." This, as well as Tai's death in Gears of War 2. I nearly reached towards my screen to take the shotgun out of his hands.
Good heavens yes, no matter how gun-ho that game was, that moment and the whole thing with Dom's wife did hit me pretty hard. And of course RDR, that was harsh dude, real harsh.

Here's one that really resonated with me:

Near the beginning of the game, I'm just starting to see the first signs of civilization. I'm seeing structures, traps, some other people, but then I come to a moat that would be impossible for me to jump over, and walking into would cause instant death. On the other side is another person. He looks at me, runs forward, and jumps into the water. He killed himself so that his body could act as a platform that would allow me to continue. I didn't know him and he didn't know me, but for some reason he found it necessary for him to die just so that I would have a chance of reaching safety. He wasn't being hurried, yet he didn't hesitate. I don't know if just wanted release from the hell in which everyone was living, but I will never forget him.

I didn't, and since I started playing FF7 not too long ago, learning it on a forum wasn't exactly the way I wanted to figure it out... Not everyone follows the same game-series y'know =/

The non complete ending to Suikidon 2 if you played it you'd understand...
I mean really, I won't bother with spoilers because I doubt many still play it but:
Your sister is dead, your best friend dies, and you're left alone to rule the country you made forever, and those characters are likable damnit!

Like Yahtzee, I found the (good)ending to inFAMOUS 2 quite affecting. Also, the ending of the werewolf/Dalish elf storyline in Dragon Age when you convince Zathrian to end the curse, which means the sacrifice of his life and the life of The Lady. Oh, and the end of Bioshock. And Portal.

Yeesh, I'm just a whimpering ball of sentiment, aren't I?

The conclusion to Red Dead Redemption. I was not actually prepared for that. Keeping the Rockstar theme I was not prepared for the potential fate of Roman in GTA either.
Oh you mean when John Marston dies? what a **** lol

I'm pretty sure spoiling that is akin to spoiling that Snape kills Dumbledore and Rosebud was the sled.

It's somewhere in between those two, yeah. Citizen Kane is WAY older than FF7, but Snape kills Dumbledore is much younger than it. In fact, HP6 is young enough that I believe the only reason it's acceptable to spoil that is because EVREYONE on the internet's been saying it basically since the book came out, so even people that haven't read the book or seen the movie know it happens.

I'm sorry man. I didn't even think about spoilers when I posted this topic. I'll be sure to keep that in mind in my future threads.

The chopper pilot who turned up nearly out of nowhere, made cliche idle chitchat, then died the usual helicopter pilots death?

Sorry, but for me watching Luis die was sadder.
I believe that was sarcasm my good chap. Sarcasm doesn't translate well to the internet you see.

Whoa... I really need to get that game. The demo was so much fun and freaky as hell, too.
