I second this. Interestingly, while I think Bioshock 1 was a better concieved and more significant game, it's emotional tone was less personal than the sequel.DementedSheep said:This is nowhere near the saddest moment in video games and I have played other games that should have made me sadder but for some reason (perhaps it was just the mood I was in at the time) the only thing in a game that has ever had me in tears was the neutral ending for bioshock 2. Specifically when she says ?But father, wherever you are...I miss you."
Arrgh my emotions make no sense sometimes. I watch it now and I even find it all that sad.
Baldur's Gate 2 runs fine on Windows 7 for me (but I know what you mean about Planescape Torment).Cowpoo said:Saddest moment in gaming?
Windows Vista/7.
I can no longer play planescape torment or baldur's gate 2![]()
If you thinks that's sad just watch Assassins Creed: Embers.NinjaDeathSlap said:Ezio/Altair's final scenes in AC: Revelations. Overall probably the poorest game of the series (although still really no worse than mediocre), but those last moments with Ezio. So sad.
Yeah I watched the ending on youtube again and remembered what happened.Sean Hollyman said:odBilal said:Aw shit...how didnt I notice this. Metal Gear Solid 3: The whole ending... *sniff*
Metal Gear Solid 4: Big Boss's deathBig Boss comes into contact with Snake's new strain of FOXDIE and he goes to sit besides the Boss's grave. He has one last smoke and says 'This is good, isn't it?' then dies at last.
There's the scene![]()
You know you can save her, right?Imthatguy said:Failing to protect Faridah when she gets shot down. Never even gives a hint shes about to blow the chopper-jetthing
For some reason when I was a kid a was really anal about protecting my army it gave me great micro but when a heavily armed convoy that you sent to rescue a few troopers on the other side of the map gets ambushed and destroyed it really hit me hard.
Fuck Lucy. ***** was a Templar Double Agent. Got much less than she deserved.A Distant Star said:There's also the death of Lucy in Assassins Creed 2. More shocking in its execution, still I was sad.
If I've gotten you to want to play Bastion, then I would say I've accomplished something good.sunsetspawn said:Holy crap. Whoever wrote that likes Alice in Chains and Soundgarden a lot. I didn't even know about this game until just now. Guess I'll be buying it now.Ghonzor said:<youtube=YlfUcnSbKDA>
That was when I become emotionally involved in ME3. That scene made me so damn sad, and the constant flashbacks pulled me into the experience. Say what you want about the endings, but the build up was phenomenal.Xixikal said:When the little boy dies at the beginning of Mass Effect 3... I cried for half an hour and had to call my best friend for emotional support. I will never forget the nameless boy.
Fully agree with both of these. I wept during the end of Bastion after carrying Zulf away from his people. I don't know if they stop attacking you out of respect or just out of fear.Ghonzor said:What are some of the most heart-wrenching moments you've experienced while playing a game. For me Journey was moving in its entirety. I can't really put it into words. Along with that:
When Anderson tells you that he's "proud of you son" just before he dies, I started to tear up.
The mission where you can choose to leave or rescue Zulf in Bastion got me as well, mainly because the gameplay and soundtrack blended so well to draw you in. "Mother, I'm Here" is a wonderful song.
