Ok, there are other comments somewhat more funny than mine, whatever, somehow this is not very surprising to me. Japan appears to have a very confusing way to handle the sex issue, sometimes ceonsoring the **** out or their **** and sometimes showing moraly difficult issues like rape without any concern. I have a clue where this comes from, namely Japan's way to adapt to other cultures and inheriting them into their own, just as they inherited this way of censorship from "our western" culture!
And that's another thing, already mentioned, i'm missing an outrage in our society, or did the "conservative" public media stop bothering about stuff like that?

Already aware of tentacle erotica. It actually made an appearance on a recent episode of CSI. As responded in another post you have the Kanamara Matsuri festival with a giant penis at its center so its not that obscene of an image.

This is just...strange. I mean, Japan as a whole is in to a bunch of really...not usually mentioned in public things.

But further than that, many of the Asian countries including Korea/China/Japan never seem to mind nudity as much as other parts of the world. If you've ever been in a Men's locker room at a Gym or Recreational center, you probably know what I'm talking about. Similarly, public bath houses in the east feature a similar entourage of gentlemen who let everything be on display. And those locales are more public than a bedroom or family room where you're playing video games.

If they want to censor it, go for it, I just find it really odd that so much else can get by easily (I don't even want to begin making a list), but this is where they draw the line.
