Huzzah she's resigning. Wow I feel happy. I really hated her.
Why did you hate her exactly? Be specific.
Well from what I've heard of her she's very ignorant (but maybe that is just the coverage we get of her in Singapore). But as far as I've seen she's also been very bitchy about things.

It's really not that bad, the main thing is just that the persona she's built up is that of a soccer mom everywomen. What with winks and the "you betcha" catchphrases. It didn't work as well as planned, and it became quite easy for the media to paint as stupid as your average soccer mom as well. I'd imagine you have to be quite a bit more calculating then that to get as far as she did.

Proably becuase she planed to be in the White House by now. Come on she looked stupid next Joe Biden.
Really? I don't have any love for Palin but Biden is regarded as the undisputed king of looking like a jackass. Seriously, it was never quite clear to me what she actually said that made people think she was a moron - actually she seemed to do the whole speech thing pretty well, when she actually got around to speaking to the media.

Most of the asinine things I've seen attributed to Palin I can't actually find any record of her actually saying.

You know, there is a difference between having an opinion and being ignorant. A good portion of the people who are taking pot shots at her don't have a reason. They're just reiterating what they heard from their parents and the news.

If you want to actually look at facts and make an argument for why she is stupid, than go right ahead. Its an opinion. But if you are going to make an unbased stab, then you are being ignorant.
Because she's really earned "repect" from the public, hold on a second...

What about the bridge to nowhere she apparently tried building? Her inabillity to understand simple questions, her constant spouting of a few key words that make sound like she IS propaganda and her annnoying "hocky mom" thing she's got going?
Seriously, it doesn't matter if she's a good governer, I think she'd be determental to America if she ever got high up over there.

I wouldn't be surprised if she tried to get some kind of anti-gay law involving shotguns passed if she made it in.

Anyway, if she's such a good governer... you should keep her.

As long as i don't have to see her run (And with as good as the judgment there is in the GOP these days) Or see the GOP nominate her for president, I couldn't care less.
I take offense to the idea that the media "Lashed out" on poor palin because frankly she was in the international spotlight and said
I can see Russia from my house
I know McCain wanted her to play towards the female voters but he HAVE To pick such a obvious airhead?
The Letterman joke Was abit of a low blow, But when you run a "Moral" agenda. You'd best be "Moral", You know like making sure everyone who has kids are married and stuff like that?

How's being married with children "moral"? How is being a single mom "immoral"?

Some people in this thread really have little idea of what they're talking about. Palin isn't a goddess, but certainly she wasn't a terrible governor. I honestly believe that the allegations against her come from deep seeded hate from a lot of people, and whoever says that she hasn't been a media punching bag for nearly 6-months is dead wrong. The lady can't fart outside her house without it being headline news on MSNBC.

Though, I will credit to the fact that I don't believe she is ready for any kind of presidential opportunity, but up to her recent disappointment (resigning) she has been an excellent governor. Oh, and I forgot to mention I'm in Alaska.

He actually kind of did. McCain was essentially in a position where he had to do a lot of stuff that he really did not want to do. McCain actually originally wanted Joe Lieberman to be his running mate, but the Republican party was just plain going to leave McCain up to dry if he even tried it, considering Lieberman's record with the Democrats and such. If you think that Barack got a lot of money, boy, the Republican party can raise money like no other if they really wanted you in; quite frankly, Republicans don't like McCain enough already, he couldn't afford that. So, when McCain found out that he couldn't get Lieberman, he pretty much just asked who he COULD get and, well, that's how Sarah Palin became everyone's favorite sexy VP candidate.

I do realize that in order to be successful to that degree she must have been quite intelligent but the way she was during the campaign was poorly done. If she had tried to play on the "successful woman" the way that Hilary Clinton did she would have been successful. For that I consider her unintelligent as she did not build up on what another woman in politics had done and instead tried to play on the stereotyped role for women losing her votes.

Additionally I find her Pro-Life/Anti-Abortion views clashing with mine which automatically causes me to dislike her. Furthermore from what I've heard she supports censorship which hits a nerve for me since I am very much against censorship (I'm not against warnings however).

On a more simple note I just fail to see what makes her sexy to some people.

She may have been a decent governor, but to me, she embodies everything that is wrong with the modern Republican Party.

Now, without further ado...
