I love the prequel movies just as much as the original trilogy, so...I think that they were good?

Okay okay,

1.I thought that Darth Maul was one of the greatest villians of all time, also that lightsaber fight was better then any fight in the original trilogy,

2.Samuel L Jackson as Mace Windu was bad ass

3.The improved CGI made the space sections come alive.

A great study in making a movie's worth of material and padding it out to three movies.

There were only enough plot points for each of the movies for barely a 45 minute script, But Lucas padded the movies with a lot of pointless battles, races and travel montages, a lot of unnecessary things to the movies.

I actually did enjoy Liam Neeson's stint as a Jedi Master. Yeah overall the film did not live up to the name, but I still think that he did a pretty good job.

I still don't understand why the viceroy didn't wait a little longer with the poison gas in the first scene...... but that's not Neeson's fault.

The music. All the humour that came from the hatred of the movies. The Emperor was pretty funny.

I've read others saying how the Lightsaber fights were cool. Normally I'd just say I disagree, but you are wrong. Sorry but, no. They're self indulgent, pointless, over-choreographed.

Sam Jackson was cool in this? What movie were you watching? You could've cast a slice of bread as Mass Window and get an equally good performance. And that's not a stab at Sam Jackson, he's a great actor, but that character...nothing could save that.

And off I go into hate again, I'll just stop.

I would wait until Battlefront 3 is released before diving into all the lore that game will be worth taking the risk assuming you enjoy third person shooters though to be honest you can enjoy the games with none of the lore or some of it or all of it.The people that get upset because one thing deviates slightly from anther thing set in the same universe just need to learn to deal with it instead of letting it spoil things for them.

They had a much fuller universe. This led to faster more dialog packed movies but where the OT failed to give us anything but brief glimpses outside Lukes POV, The Prequels embraced (for better or Worse) what had been filled in between Return and Phantom while still holding on to the original story as it was written.

I would further say that the prequels are just as well written as the OT. I think the disparity rather lies in the acting. Hayden christiansen and Natalie Portman are really talented actors (V for Vendetta anyone?) but had little chemistry onscreen and as the story focused on those two the movie fell apart because it sidelined their better characters (ewan mcgreggor as obi and Ian McDiarmid as Mr. Palpatine).

The Action was better.
CGI effects were 20 years better.
Music was as good as the OT.
Coruscant was beautifully realized.
Yoda lightsaber fight. Twice.
Liam Neeson, always a fun guy to watch.
Christopher Lee also always fun to watch.

I definitly think watch anakins rise onto the hero's journey and inevetible fall from it was well done, yes he is a whiny um female dog. But it was still well done, the slow corruption of episode 2 through to the full blown imma mess everyone up for what i want of ep 3 was just well done.

As much as I hate him the evolution of Jar Jar is also interesting starting off as in essence an annoying childlike character and then watching his rise and growth to being something much more adult.

Finally emporer palpatine and how he uses the laws of the republic to become the emporer.

EDIT: oh and of course Yoda flipping out like a ninja in every lightsaber fight scene he is in.

Yoda bouncing around like a crazy lightsaber wielding ninja monkey. That's all I can think of.

Seeing R2D2 kick droid ass in Revenge of the Sith whereas he was pretty much just a plot element in the original trilogy.

Also some genuinely good and memorable music.

Most of the lightsaber fights. Episodes 4-6 just had 'old man stumbling after kids with his cane' syndrome. I couldn't understand how they could move their lightsabers fast enough to deflect lasers, but ridiculously slow when actually in combat. At least the Jedi in the prequels actually felt like a force to be reckoned with.

Oh, and Jango Fett was pretty cool, and didn't die like a wuss.

I came awfully close to falling dead asleep on all three of the movies (yes, even during the mostly pointless lightsaber fights), but really the only thing that kept me awake for an extended period of time was the extremely long, drawn-out, especially pointless first scene in Episode 3 (beginning to the first scene at Coruscant). Why, you ask? Mostly because I watched it more as if I was spectating a video game. No real reason or explanation for anything happening, but tons of random colorful crap flying at your face and humor that will produce a few dumb chuckles. Then I dozed off again for the whole movie until I woke up laughing at the Darth Vader transformation NOOO scene. That was the most hilarious scene in movie history.

The scene where Palpatine announces the Galactic Empire to the Senate is one of the worst things.....he's telling everyone that the Jedi (an order than has kept the peace for 1000 generations) has decided to take over the world for no reason; and never mind the fact than I'm wearing an evil black cloak and sound like a monster that wants to take over the world: I'm concentrating all the power into my hands...but you see it's the Jedi that are evil, we exterminated them because they deserved it. Why? Nevermind, just trust me xD
And they all accept it without questions, WHAT???

...stupid plot, in all 3 movies. If you value them as action movies for droolers, fine. But I just don't like any of the characters, they are as fake as the green screen world they are projected against...well except for the Emperor, despite all the flaws he's the only guy in the trilogy with some kind of passion.

EDIT: can please someone explain to me why Boba and Jango Fett are so loved? Boba appers for like 20 minutes in the Originals, and dies like a punk. Jango is just some guy that's in the movies only because some fanboys liked Boba.....is it because the armor is cool? Because it sold alot of action figures and videogames? They don't say anything interesting and just fight a couple of times, why are they important?

Duel of the Fates, both the fight and the music. That was truly glorious.

I'll also admit I was partial to Yoda fighting. Too bad none of his fights ever really amounted to much.

Other than that, can't say I hate the movies, but they definitely feel more hollow than the original trilogy.

I was actually meaning how he plays both sides to grant himself power. I agree that the senate going along with his plans for no real reason is rather stupid.

I have to disagree: the duels in the Originals have meaning, it's less about the Lightsaber and more about the personal reasons of the people fighting. Also, they feel more real: why would someone fight like a choreographed dancer in real life?

What's happening between Darth Maul Obi and Jin? Nothing, they don't know each other, they just fight because one is dark and evil and the others are light and good.
Same thing with Dooku, we know nothing about him, and Anaking is utterly unlikable, why should I care about their duel? The only battle with significance is Anakin vs Obi.....but it ended in a really stupid way, "I have the high ground" lol

Yoda kicking ass was a great thing to see. The lightsaber battles were awesome and so was the music. Christopher Lee is always cool.
The parallels between the characters and certain scenes and old horror movies was a deliciously nerdy thing. Count Dooku, played by Christopher Lee, is suspiciously similar to his portrayal of Count Dracula. Darth Vader breaking out of the operating table looks quite a bit like the stiff hulking of Frankenstein's monster when he was first re-animated. Nice touch, Lucas.

There were some really neat screen shots in Episode 1. There's one where the camera pans across the view of the city and there's so much detail to take in you can't see it all with just one pass.
