I'm currently looking for a game that will scare the shit out of me. Just for the fun of it! Something along the lines of Condemned 2 or Dead Space. And NO-ONE sggest resident evil 5. Thats a fast way to make me slip into a fucking coma.

Any ideas about a scary game I could play whilst waiting on the Nov. Releases?

Ocarina of Time. Pretty tame for a while until about 2/3rds through, at the shadow temple.

If you're looking for a current gen. game, then try Silent Hill: Homecoming. If you still have a PS2, go for the older Silent Hills and the Fatal Frame games. They're not exactly like your two examples, but they're cheap now and will scare the shit out of you even after you turn the game off.

Fatal Frame. Nothing will scare you as much as Fatal Frame. Probably the only game that I've ever just had to turn off without saving because I was so scared.

For PC, I can recommend Alien Vs Predator 2, System Shock 2, STALKER(either of them), Silent Hill 2 or Cryostasis.
I totally agree with the first 2. System Shock 2 does it very well. haven't played the others.

well depends on what kinda scary you're going with. If you'd like something thats scary yet has a good story and characters you can relate to, I'd recommend Silent Hill 2. If you're looking for a mindfuck, go with eternal darkness. But if you're looking for something a little more action-packed yet guerenteed to make you wet yourself, I'd go with the first condemned, seeing as how the second one gets kinda weird after a while

Aliens vs Predator 2 on PC, mainly the human campaign. The sound of the motion sensor beeping at you while theres something round the corner waiting to munch on you. Shits me up

I'll respond as I always do. If you have Half-Life, try the mods Afraid of Monsters and Afraid of Monsters: Directors Cut. I'd suggest playing the first version, then directors cut. I've never had a mod freak me out quite as much. It's like Jacob's Ladder meets Silent Hill in Half-Life. If you're just looking for a game with a creepy occult setting I'd suggest Clive Barkers Undying (PC) and Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (XBOX, PC, and it's backwards compatible for the 360).

A series of games that scared me amazingly well was the trilby series by Ben Croshaw ,AKA Yahtzee as probably already know, not the art of theft but the days and notes Quadrilogy, 5 days a stranger, 7 days a Sceptic, Trilbys notes and 6 days a Sacrifce.
