It was an accident. He accidentally forgot to say "This is off the record." He accidentally forgot how much this could hurt him in a small community where everyone knowns everyone and executives from major publishers talk to each other.

Ballsy, were his comments, but that doesn't prevent them from being true. Kotick burns bridges like a ************, but with consumers instead of industry insiders. Churning out Guitar Hero after Guitar Hero is a sure fire way of burning bridges, as is annualising Call of Duty. I'm glad EA realised by MOH Vanguard's release that the series was stagnant and flaccid, but who knows what will happen with the COD franchise.
