Also, and I've never served so feel free to correct me, but guns are very well controlled in the military. Some random aircraft tech can't just walk into the armory and get loaded. And even on missions, SEALS just don't have those rifles ready do go. They're provided on an "as needed" basis.
Im sure in some units, situations they play a little fast and loose with some stuff. But an 18 year old off the bus recruit can't just ask for 2 assault rifles and armor and get it, no questions asked.
To the best of my (limited) knowledge, unless a soldier/airman/seaman is standing an armed post, all the firearms and ammunition are kept locked in the armoury and the Quartermasters only given out on a basis of requirement: i.e. live fire training, or patrol or similar duty on bases in-country. In fact, I believe when receiving a weapon and ammunition, the squaddie who gets the gear has to rattle off their name, rank and serial, and repeat back to the Quartermaster what they've been given and then the reverse occurs when its returned, with any discrepancy have to be explained.

Like, its a really bureaucratic process to actually get a gun out of a military armoury. Not to say they don't go missing or get stolen - to think otherwise would be absurd.

Now obviously when operating in the proverbial combat zone, like the various forward operating bases in Iraq, the rule might be different so as to allow swift action at arms since they're in ostensible hostile territory.

The British military had to make training films about what to do if you've taken something off-range by mistake that you shouldn't have, because people would worry they'd get into trouble and throw them in the garbage and that could cause safety issues at the waste disposal sites.

I don't get it, how do you stop cooperating? Like you ask what officers were on duty and they refuse to answer? Sure! You're fired. We're the Government, and you're just an employee. This investigation has been ordered by the Governor. He runs this shit, and all cops technically report to him.

Man, how much of a fuck up did they do that sitting on their asses for a hour while attacking parents trying to get in to save their kids was something they admitted but now they won't talk anymore...

I wonder how many of those kids have bullets from police issued handguns in them...

Okay so dark theory I just had.
The police are now stonewalling the investigation and have purposefully muddied up facts, details and the timeline of events. What if the reason they waited 40mins before entering the classroom was because they wanted the coroner's report on the time of death of one of the students to show they died 40mins before police were able to end the shooting and kill the shooter.
What if during the initial breaching of the school, one of these SWAT officers, nervous, pops the first thing that moves. A student who had been hiding in the bathrooms or something. What if the police shot and killed one the of the students, and they're trying to cover it up? Bet me there are going to be missing minutes on all the camera footage of the breaching team.

You're far from the only one to pose this theory, and if that turns out to be the case, I'd expect some of those cops to start packing up and moving out of the neighborhood in a real hurry.

Into a new cop job a few towns over, maybe out of state. His retirement will still be secure of course.

No no, you see that cops already unequivocally stated that all of the children were definitely shot by the school shooter and no one else. They said that completely unprompted and for absolutely no reason without anyone actually asking them. That's how you know it's true!
