When I read the title, I was going to pounce in and say "But dont you go around thinking that, because some gamers are GIRLS!" Yeah, that attitude always pissed me off for being blatantly sexist towards men.

But instead its about the Wii gimmicks "imitation activities".

Gotta admit, there is some truth behind the "Why the fuck would I want to play that when I can go out and play the better, healthier, and more fair real life version?!"

Ok this is 1/3rd true, I have been depressed but I'm not fat and I have a lot of friends in real-life. Why the hell did Science say this?! What, are they sided with all the video-game hating politicians now or something?

Isn't a sample group of 500 kinda small for that age range? That's what, around 6-8 people per year? Seems like they'd want some more people. I mean, they have the resources of two universities and the CDC, for fucks sake! Seems like they could have been more thorough to me.

because scientists are clearly the coolest most outgoing individuals in the world and they aren't considered depressed, fat or nerdy at all, by anyone.

Oh no they didn't!

This seems like it's more of a stereotype to me. I'm not fat social reject who is depressed and needs to vent by killing virtual people constructed entirely of pixels.

Social outcast? Nope, my "quirkiness" ensures my immortality amongst my peers as the looney one
Fat? Nope, I've just been for a month's trekking in Peru
Depressed? Incredibly sardonic, but no, I'm splendid, thank you

Ah,

Bugger, I'm not a gamer.

..Anyone want to buy a PS3?

What an outrageous claim! I'm 8 stone (average weight for a 14 year old), perfectly happy with existence and I have a girlfriend and a wide circle of friends all ready to do my bidding if I ask nicely. And you're saying that...

Wait...

SCIENCE said that!

...well shit, can't argue with that then.

Hm, 2 out of 3. Not fat, but apperantly a loser according to plenty of people (guess they're right) and definatly depressed.

Games don't CAUSE people to be fat, shy or depressed. Fat, shy and depressed people FIND gaming. It's an easy alternative to, well, everything.
