My dad came up with this joke in relation of this case:

"no sects please, we're French"

Gettit? In my defence, my dad made it and he loves it.

This is easily a step in the right direction.
Now if only other countries would follow suit...

Dude, it's a troll.

(Not that you can't tell that for yourself, I'm just saying you should ignore him, and hit the report button.)
Yeah. I don't think reporting does a whole lot though.

This is the Escapist. If you expected informed and intelligent opinions on religion you came the wrong place Oracle. This place is fulled with evangelistic atheists who are more fanatical and ferverent than any religious people I have ever run into.

I've got only one comment to end their entire charade.

Why is Scientology a cult and not a religion like christianity? It's not because of any godlike presence, it's not because it promises salvation ... It's because a christian church gives people safety and tranquillity. Scientology's church provides instability and so-called therapy sessions that are expensive and false.

Burn Scientology, throw it in a pit and bury it. Enough said.

Seconded.

The article was very poorly written (not unusual for this particlar Escapist writer to be fair), and this has added to the trolling in this thread.

Scientology has not been convicted of fraud.

The Church of Scientology has been convicted of fraud.

If a priest was arrested for bank robbery, this would be the equivalent of him being jailed for that bank robbery, not the equivalent of him being jailed for "false" worship.

Finally, damn I despise religion, and Scientology is high in the list of things that need to be opposed.

'Bout time somebody did something about all this scientology nonsense, especially all those crazy rich folks...
