Oh god, this actually worked. This game has been broken for a year now.
Holy shit. Thanks for the technique!

Yeah, I have had more than one game get that infamous circle cut. I learned not to put the console vertically after my dog knocked it over while I was playing.

I've never scratched my discs; I'm more careful than that.

Although now that I've heard how easily a 360 will scratch a disc to hell if you even nudge it while it's running, I'm somewhat apprehensive...

I'll need some other way to fix it if it happens, though. I'm pretty badly allergic to bananas.

There was this thing on the Today show called, "How to fix things the easy way." It was showing how to fix any kind of disc with creamy peanut butter and toothpase, either one. So I decided to try the toothpaste theory on my copy of Jet Moto 2(I'm an old school gamer.) and guess what? It worked. So I have been fixing my games with perfect circular scratches with my Crest toothpaste.

I use a disc-descratcher thing I bought from a Dixons for 5 quid...Slightly less homeopathic than some of the options suggested here, but it saves on bannanas and toothpaste in the long run.

Meh I just take them to BlockBuster. $4 and 8 minutes it is like I just bought the disk.
Good call, definitely the best option. Im not sure if they offer that service in the UK, maybe someone else will know. Also I was very impatient to get it fixed that I couldn't wait till Monday.
Gamestation couldn't fix TF2 but then again that scratch was deep!
Yeah, but Gamestation give you a refund if it doesn't work.

That's why I always buy disc guaranties with my 360 games. Yes I am perfectly aware they are a rip off, that in certain circumstances the retailer has to by law replace the disc and there's ways to fix them.

It's just as I've gotten older, I just can't be bothered going through all the hassle (having done so for a couple of game so far).

Uhm, you may wanna find a "safer" place for your x-box, like w´somewhere where it won't be kicked over, and if you place it on somethign (the mroe the better) there'll be a smaller amount of energy transfered to it when someone falls from a chair, and it'll reduve teh chances of it scratching the disc.

Also, tell your mom that she ruined yoru disc and have to give you money for a new one, then buiy a different game, caus eyou got the old one to work.

I take extra care of my discs now, but my first 360 was on accident tilted and left the nice giant ring so many people have described on the disc. Instead of home methods I just paid the $2 at some local game store to have them do it for me. First level won't work sadly, but everything else does. Luckily I beat it before my friend tilted the Xbox.

I remember playing, i think it was, "ready to rumble boxing" on the playstation when there was about a third of the disk actually missing. Games were hardier back than...

Deodorant and hairspray have always worked for me.
You know. Unless they were deep friggin' trenches.
I'll try the banana thing next time.

I remember many disks snapped in half and scratched to oblivion when I was a console gamer, that feeling of intense loss. Now I'm a PC gamer, and I back up all my games with No-Cd Cracks! Happy!
Amen. I lose half my cd's anyway for games though. I've bought diablo 2 and it's expansion 4 times.

Really.
