Some good news about this story. EA has agreed to replace all the video game consoles and give the kids all the newest games for the holiday season. Props to EA for showing they're not just another soulless corporation!

That man has no morals of any sorts which makes me think about what Robert A. Heinlein wrote in Starship Troopers about crime. He was raised with no morales and his ones aren't ours.

That man should think about what he did, stealing from kids who are recovering from a medical condition near incurable.

If there was ever a person who needed to be punched in the face and then raped by those redneck guys from Pulp Fiction it is this guy.
And then thrown in Shawshank State Penitentiary.

Which they aren't!

Way to go, needledick, you've helped to make me angry at what was otherwise a pretty good day. Enjoy prison. Your idiot face is gonna be plastered all over the news. Considering what inmates (apparently) tend to do to paedophiles, I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same to a guy who stole from cancer kids.

And I will have no sympathy.

Edit: And I shall now defer to the Germans for a word that I'm sure we can all agree with. "Backpfeifengesicht", which means "A face badly in need of a fist." [http://askville.amazon.com/Word-Day-Backpfeifengesicht-German/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=60446360]
Please tell me, how the hell do you pronounce that?
Poorly. This site [http://www.forvo.com/word/backpfeifengesicht/] has a couple of pronunciations with sounds.

Backp-fy-f-n-ge-zee-kt is my terrible phonetic attempt.

i absolutely love the diplomatic title of this article. Christ people settle down, it's not like he hurt anyone. This country's economy is in the toilet, maybe he had a legit reason to steal them...like a starving family of his own. I don't know...all this talk of hell and stabbings...Christ, relax!
Wait, you're seriously defending his stealing from kids with cancer? There is never a 'legit' reason to steal. There's doubly never a 'legit' reason to steal from sick children! I don't care what situation he and his family are in; if he was stealing food I might have some sympathy, but he was stealing gaming consoles. Not food, not clothes, not anything needed for survival. Gaming systems donated to kids who are undergoing cancer treatment. There is no redemption for that.
Tell that to Aladdin.
That's still not a legit reason to take something that belongs to someone else. It's a reason that most people would be sympathetic to (as I said in my first post) and there's a rational behind it, but that doesn't make it legit to steal.

Where to start? This story is nothing new. Stealing is stealing and stealing from the most miss fortunate is as common as from others. I saw stories about stolen consoles of kids who had them as a last hope of some enjoyment in life. It makes me sick just thinking about it, but this goes over the line. Robbing a hospital, a cancer recovery center, how low do you have to sink? Taking something that brings joy at random could be a coincidence, but from a medical center? I hope for several things. First that when they catch this guy, to throw him in jail. Then someone to casually drop the reason to why he's been jailed, I'm sure he's inmates will appreciate it. Next is for those consoles to be recovered one way or another (buy new ones, arrange for donations if there are no money and so on). Finally for the policemen who arrest the guy, to have children of their own, cause I'm sure they'd like to give that criminal a private lesson in why it is wrong to steal from children.

Big difference between stealing food to survive and stealing a computer console off of seriously ill children.
Not if you plan to sell said consoles for monetary gain with which you can use to buy food. PS3 in stores 300 dollars. PS3 out of this guys trunk, 150 dollars. 150 dollars and you can feed your family for 2 - 3 weeks.
Still doesn't justify stealing from an ill child. If you seriously need the money for food then rob a store, go into a college and maybe steal some computers*. You don't ever, ever, ever steal from children. I don't care what way you try and justify this, it won't work because there is no justification.

Even if he had to feed a family of five (which I seriously doubt, I'm sure a father of five would know how low it is to steal from children) there is no justification. He needed money so bad, there's plenty of other ways to make it.

* I think both of those crimes are horrid things to do but no where close to the crime committed here.

Also there are foodbanks and other community programs if someone's in need of help.

There was a problem with that sentence, so I fixed it =) (This was clearly meant to be satirical, and I mean no offense.)

But seriously, stealing from cancer-recovering children? That's, like, a whole new level of Hitler, right there. I really hope this guy get's what's coming to him. Maybe getting tazed by Santa Claus and having his nuts kicked in by Jesus Christ, while the Grinch holds him steady.

Using that rational you can justify stealing anything, up to the clothes off of the sick children's backs. I refuse to feel any sympathy for someone who claims to be stealing to feed their family unless they are literally stealing food to feed their family, and even that's not going to get much sympathy in this day and age. I'd imagine you wouldn't be so full of forgiveness if someone went into your house and stole every electronic there to "feed his family".

At the cost of making other kids suffer. Kids already in deeper trouble than mere hunger, at that. Games are proven to have excellent palliative results, particularly for children; the resulting reduction in use of pain meds, nausea meds, sedation, and probably other medications I'm forgetting does a lot to help them get better more quickly... or at least with less suffering.

Nope, sorry, this thief ain't gettin' my sympathy. I don't care what his story is.
