Second Trailer For Marvel's Ant-Man Released

"Imagine a soldier the size of an insect."

Marvel has released a new trailer for Ant-Man this morning, with a couple minutes of footage to help whet your whistle for its release later this summer.

The trailer sets up the plot of Ant-Man, in which petty thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is given a suit with the ability to reduce its wearer's size without changing their relative strength and is charged with protecting that technology from interests looking to exploit it. It also features an in-action look at the film's main antagonist, Darren Cross, wearing his Yellowjacket suit and facing off against Ant-Man on a model train track.

Ant-Man opens in theaters July 17.

So between April and July, we get the conclusion of Agents of Shield season 2, Daredevil, The Avengers 2, and now what is shaping up to be a rather enjoyable Ant-Man film, which I was fully prepared to write-off as the first Marvel movie I really had no interest in seeing before seeing the trailer?

DC, up your game son.

Well damn, I may actually enjoy this movie... didn't see that coming.

I guess I could trust Marvel to make a good movie out of anything at this point. Not sequels, but most anything else.

The difference between this trailer and the first one is like night and day. At first, I wasn't that interested, but this actually looks like it could be kinda cool.

This is the trailer I wish we had gotten instead of the first one. It actually pumps me up for the movie. I actually might go and see it in theaters now instead of waiting.

YES. I knew i would be sold if they had fun and was inventive with the shrinking power in the action scenes, and they have. Just looks excellent.

It's true, the model train fight makes the whole thing seem bearable. Poor Thomas! Lol.

And they continue to make fun of their own name.

Yeeeessssss.

This is the trailer I've been waiting for.
None of that ridiculously serious trailer like the first one was.

I know trailers are made to look awesome... but that did look awesome. I was going to see it regardless because I'm not going to write off a Marvel film as a failure until there is an actual failure AND this character is one of the most under regarded characters in the whole Marvel Universe... so much so that they basically make Tony Start (worlds biggest asshole) the creator of things that Hank Pym is responsible for. The whole thing where everyone is just waiting for the first big fail just makes everyone seem kind of like assholes. I'll be there and I can't wait to see this movie.

I still don't really understand the appeal of this superhero. But at least this trailer showed off a few more instances of Whedon.

Unfortunately, I'm wondering if this is all we get in terms of hilarious moments. I mean, when Iron Man came out, its trailers had already shown off the best moments of Tony Stark dialogue. The fight scenes were still cool, but the experience had been watered down by the audience already knowing all the jokes.

I just can't buy Crap Bag being a superhero, even a small one.

The Antsuit doesn't register Newton's Third Law, does it?

How the hell did they do that. They made me want to go and see a movie about Ant-man. I fucking hate Ant-man and yet I want to see the rest of that movie now.

I am calling it right now. Marvel is run by Witches. There is witchcraft going on here.

I was gonna see this movie anyway of course because I'm a total fanboy for the MCU but this trailer really sold me on it.
Much better than the first one.

Sweet another film to look forward to in the summer (but it's a week before the MCM EXPO Manchester meaning my mate will have to choose one...).

Also heh, I didn't expect Yellowjacket to be a seperate character and villain (I thought it was wasp at first until I read the comments).

Lastly epic LOL at the last scene which I believe a new meme is born (seriously would you cover in fear at Thomas???)!

The trailer for this looks amazing. I had no hopes for this movie, but now I'm actually kind of hyped.

All aboard the hype train!

Looks like Thomas is out for blood... because nobody fucks with Thomas the Tank Engine...

Other than that, is it just me or does the beginning of this trailer feels a bit meta out of context?

I had absolutely no urge to see ant man. He was never a character I found interesting, and the first trailer was rather boring. This one actually made me want to see the movie. It was funny, and it did well to showcase that the size shifting as something that could be fun. Color me interested finally.
